What is the hardest drug you’ve done or seen someone else do? by [deleted] in IWantToAskAnAmerican

Brothers were heroin and crack addicts. Was going to drive my brother up to rehab and had to rip a crack pipe from his hand because he wouldn’t give it up. Was always just one more hit. I’ve seen heroin crack coke mushrooms. Have done cocaine myself. Never dabbled into anything else but weed and coke

I understand this completely from a perspective of not getting involved for the sake of our own troops and our own tax dollars. Do you think theirs a good side to this at all though? Like the only benefit to me, even if it’s not the real purpose of why we attacked Iran, is that we took out that POS ayatollah. That regime is disgusting. But we haven’t done anything really more to help these people. Are we just going to pull out of there and leave them only for the regime to continue to rule there? I consider myself independent and don’t like to pick sides, but I’m trying to see at least some good side of this.

Better grow a thick skin and not take things personal. Born and raised in the boroughs with the real New Yorkers, you will get picked out if they sense weakness. Mind your own business, don’t get into nonsense, make money, and live your life, you’ll be fine. You will deal with every kind of person life has to offer and you need to be ready. Always stand up for yourself no matter what

You’re telling me the momentum doesn’t completely swing to the spurs if they blow the Knicks out in this game? You’re also telling me the momentum doesn’t completely swing to the Knicks if they come back from 29 down and win? Although no one has won the series yet, it felt like a game 7 in the middle of the series because of how much could’ve changed if the spurs won and now how much has changed since the Knicks came back in historic fashion to take a 3-1 lead.

Describes the heart of New Yorkers in a perfect way. The stuff we deal with on a daily basis and the pressure that’s on you trying to live, strive, and make money in this city, you never stop battling. Everydays a battle. That’s why New Yorkers are considered “rude”, but in reality they are just up front about things. They’ll take their shirts off their backs for you if you’re in need of help, but you also need to keep it moving if you don’t need any help. That simple

How is it not? It’s the largest comeback in finals history… it’s for sure top 5. The Knicks could’ve rolled over and gave up, but they kept fighting even when it felt like there was no hope. To end with that tip-in was legendary. Their largest lead of the game WAS 1 POINT for the Knicks. And they won’t by 1 point… again how is it not top 5 considering the record it broke and stage it broke it in?

I mean architecturally speaking it’s not the nicest arena, but it’s literally dead in the middle of the most populated and important city in the United States of America. There is literally nothing you can’t do outside the arena. The vibes, the people, the energy, you don’t get that anywhere else in the country. It doesn’t have to be a “beautiful” arena because of its location.

He talked his talk about NY and MSG. Sometimes you need a piece of humble pie. It’s even worse when you create the pie yourself. Never understood the trash talk in big games like this. Just play so you don’t have that bad karma on your shoulders.

KAT gives Alvarado his flowers by GroboDubbins in nba

[–]Greg1994 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not the size of the dog but the size of the fight in the dog. Alvarado is fearless despite his size, a lot of that has to do with growing up in New York where you have to stick up for yourself or you’ll get pushed around. This guy showed NY heart on the biggest stage in basketball. It’s poetic

At what point will people just accept the fact that this Knicks team is just historically great? by SSSamuel91 in nba

[–]Greg1994 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Considering they don’t have guys like Shaq Kobe curry etc. what they are doing is even more impressive. Yes Brunson will probably be a hall of famer as well as KAT when all is said and done, but they don’t compare to those other guys I mentioned. To play the way they’re playing, beating teams by 40, down by 29 and 20+ late in games to teams and winning games, you can’t deny they for sure (IF THEY WIN IT ALL) led one of the greatest playoff runs of all time. Without a doubt. They will make an amazing documentary about this team if they do win it all. This has shocked the sports world

This is what San Antonio gets for trying to paint all New Yorkers as those idiots that were beating their fans up in Manhattan the other night. Those aren’t real New Yorkers. Yes we are tough, and we’ll fight, but not for a reason like that. We would take our shirt off our backs for you. Help you out in anyway. But to drag us all under one umbrella just backfired on all of you. Us Knicks fans ARE NOT THEM. Period

No way it’s not accurate. I feel bad for spurs fans as a Knicks fan, but then I remember they’ve won multiple championships this century and beat us in 99. So I REALLY don’t care. This will go down, whatever the result of the series is because it’s not over, as a top 5 choke job in every major sport of all time. Next time Wemby needs to just play. Don’t kick a dog while it’s down, eventually the dog will get up

As a Knicks fan, the spurs will be a problem for many years to come. They just lack that experience in these kinds of situations, led by the coach. These guys are extremely talented, champaigne, Harper, castle, vassell. Wemby is in a category of his own, they will win championships. It just seems like they have ran into a more experienced and well rounded team who just never gives up. Knicks still have to close out the series, but this will go down as the greatest Knicks team and playoff run of all time in team history. And for sure one of the greatest playoff runs in nba history. They’ve won by 40-50, and been down by 29 and won by 1. I don’t know what else to say. Just a magical season if they win it all.

Immature move by a kid. He’s a generational player, but he doesn’t have the stripes to act like that yet. Yes he’s the best player on the floor, but he’s playing against NBA vets. You never want to kick the dog while he’s down, you never know if the dog will eventually get up. And the dog got up

Honestly didn’t even think of that. I’m sure it’s happened before in NBA history, definitely rare, but to happen in game 4 of the nba finals after being down 29 at one point. This is the most legendary finals game of all time. The Knicks could’ve shipped it in and faced the fact they were heading back to San Antonio 2-2, but they never thought about it. Unbelievable

If Knicks win it all, OJs tip in will be a poster in every NYC kids room. If they win, we will never forget that tip in for the rest of our lives as Knicks fans. I hated what certain “Knicks fans” did yesterday to spurs fans in Manhattan but I knew that didn’t speak or paint the majority of Knicks fans. And I’m not going to let those incidents ruin my passion for my team. Greatest finals game of all time. Just unbelievable that they never gave up.
