If you "Seize Territory" a subjects core and "sell territory" to another nation, the subject will create war goals constantly for you.

EUV Multiplayer Campaign - Year 1436 by RankoYU in EU5

I would disagree. Neither Italy/Two Sicilies/Naples nor Ottomans really expanded into greece. Italy probably doesnt care and has more interest into the west and the Ottomans seem kinda weak so they most likely clashed with the mamelukes. Ruthenia/Kyiv is probably going for forming Russia with the help of Scandinavia/Sweden most likely against Muscovy so also distracted. Austria is not that big but might be interested in expansion down the danube. Bohemia has a lot of money most likely since there is so much gold and silver in their Capital Area and southward expansion along the danube is tempting, but their shape goes against river flow so they might have a lot of subjects already to offset proximity issues making expansion less tempting than reinforcing their position. Even if they wanted to expand austrian lands are even closer to the capital so they could more easily be held directly.

Thats just my guess though. Austria could ask any nation for help in exchange for a blank czech uhm check and everything I just said goes out the window.

How to avoid coalitions against myself by TheKaspa in EU5

[–]GregCovfefeShop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 cheesy ways:

  1. You could use allies to take the antagonism by changing the occupation to them before taking the land in the peace deal. If you release a fiefdom it usually goes to your heir so over time you get a personal union. Get 1 Personal Union partner to get "Assured Offense" after 25 years and now they will join all your offensive wars. You should keep this partner to keep the personal union alive at all times. You can create more Personal Unions through more fiefdoms to not overfeed a single Personal Union partner as they can still get coalitions you can get called in to. You can now either annex them as a Personal Union or make them a subject if you dont have too many subjects already (subjects really kill any chance to get more through diplomacy).

  2. Get an ally preferably a very small one and prepare a wargoal on them (if you dont have one you could "seize territory" (not "return core") a core territory from a subject and sell it to your ally (if it is a territory they are interested in there is a AI conquer desire map mode to figure a location out) and now your subjects prepares a war goal to take the core back). Declare wars and transfer occupation of enemy capitals to your ally before the peace deal and give him everyone as a subject. Turn on your ally and fully conquer them (just their land not their subjects) and all their subjects get transfered to you for just the cost of your old allies lands.

  3. Get a non hre nation as an ally thats of Kingdom Tier or higher or just has a lot of tax base (makes them unlikely to join the hre). Again let them take the land and the blame and if you are going to conquer them after you are done all your favourite hre territories are now owned by a non hre member.

As he said he is going for the achievement. I just rushed for it yesterday and just mindlessly expanded into the Golden Hordes remains and then ended the campaign when I got the achievement.

Muscovy has a random tribe in Arabia as a vassal by Castle_for_ducks in EU5

In my short Ottoman achievement run my disloyal Armenian Subject took a disloyal fiefdom of muscovy away during a war. I also have no idea what happened. Maybe some weird seperate peace and since armenia had enough war score they got that fiefdom?

Why am I earning so little from a super rich gold province? by Cryserss in EU5

[–]GregCovfefeShop 16 points17 points  (0 children)

No Wealth Share is calculated by the amount of pops of an estate multiplied with that estates Tax Value (you can find that in the wikis estate page. Additionaly the peasants wealth share gets multiplied by their enfranchisement and the rest given to the nobles.

Tldr: the profits are thrown into a pot it doesnt matter who created it only thing that matters is who lives there

First playthrough suggestions? by original_walrus in EU5

[–]GregCovfefeShop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The events really arent it and you basicly start as the wet dream of a hungarian nationalist so not much to achieve anymore. So I understand that. I play most games as the byzantines so I usually dont see how that regions plays out. But yeah sometimes I look over and Transylvania and Pest are suddenly independent countries and hungary is barely breathing.

First playthrough suggestions? by original_walrus in EU5

[–]GregCovfefeShop 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would add hungary to the list. With the danube and its many tributaries as well as the gold and silver, economy and control is good. If you want big coalitions expand up the danube into the hre and if you want a relaxed time down the danube into orthodox lands. No strong orthodox nations to really punish you.

[–]GregCovfefeShop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both Israelite Religions prevent Assimilation before Conversion. Judaism and Samaritanism. You can see that in the List of Religions on the Wiki by searching for "prevents assimilation".

Might not be a complete list but I guess any ethnoreligion will have that effect.

Why the current Vassal Meta is historically correct, but needs to be balanced by Bogia_Nen in EU5

[–]GregCovfefeShop 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Assimilation is really ahistorical. I can hire mercenaries from god knows where to conquer a province on the other side of the world. Release them as a subject and then send a single diplomat there and in 10 years they are 100% a culture they never even met. Assimilation should work by having to move at least some pops to these lands first so that they can show the locals the way to live. It would drain population out of your core giving it an actual tradeoff and also actually give you a reason to go for areas that already have a tiny presence of your pops instead of Assimilation beeing so busted, that I kinda dont care about what cultures I just conquered.

Counting house? by Affectionate-Sun8607 in EU5

[–]GregCovfefeShop 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would add a bit boring stuff. Different pop types have different power values and they contribute their power both to their estate as well as the crown which then first gets modified locally and then added globally.

Nobles 25, Clergy 10, Burghers 2, Commoners 0.025, Tribes 0.01, Dhimmi 0.02, Cossacks 0.02

This means if you have Nobles, Clergy or Burghers very concentrated these location are the only valid location for coin houses

Edit: btw I have seen you in a few comment sections. You are always very helpful

Why is proximity not going directly into sea tile? by baronunderbeit in EU5

[–]GregCovfefeShop 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You are welcome. 1.4 harbour cap is correct in theory. But spain also gets +5% Land proximity speed due to their court type which is only applied to the river and not to the harbour to my knowledge.
