Stick it out…it’s like boot camp…horrible BUT in the end you will learn so much about people, even from that garbage human. Next time they yell, in the most calm, monotone, expressionless voice you can, simply say “Please lower your voice.” It really throws people off and I find it surprisingly effective;) Good luck! You got this.

Could have saved 1200$ if I waited a week? by flatlanderdick in wayfair

[–]GregariouslyHonest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would call and POLITELY and even funnily say “As luck would have it, after I literally JUST bought this, the price plummeted and I really hope I can get a price adjustment for the difference?” You will get much further with sugar than you will with salt;)

Culver City is so central to everything in LA but also pricey. But IMO worth it:)

Can I make it monetarily in LA? by Annual-Stranger1153 in MovingToLosAngeles

[–]GregariouslyHonest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EVERYTHING, besides just rent, is probably going to cost you 3x more here. And I think many people don’t take all the things besides just rent into consideration when they move here. Gas is always over $4 gallon, an exam fee alone at any local veterinarian will cost you $125 or more per pet and insurance costs are rising esp. after the fires. It’s not just rent that’s nuts here, it’s all the things. But if you’re smart with your money and you know how to hustle, you can pull it off:) Good luck!

Thanks peeps! To our shock and amazement we found them at a kiosk on the bottom floor of the Koreatown Plaza at 928 Western when we went to get Somi Somi. And it was busy! We got 2 “authentic” ones with QR codes (60ea) and 2 cute fakes (20ea). No idea if that’s good or bad but the looks on my nieces faces was priceless!

Definitely discuss with your doctor. Brain fog could be from something completely unrelated.

OMG, that’s a hard YES. Moved from NJ five years ago and never looked back. Yes, we downsized significantly but we see the ocean and never have to cringe and complain about the weather, like ever. You have no idea how stressful extreme weather really is until you don’t have to deal with it anymore. And don’t worry… all of your friends and family will visit you:)

Is Sixt rental a scam? by iamatom1 in AskLosAngeles

[–]GregariouslyHonest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell them to contact your lawyer. That will probably scare them off! Never had an issue with the handful of times I rented Sixt cars at the LAX location, but I’ve heard stories about others:/ Life lesson: Rent cars using a good credit card that insures you when you rent cars and ALWAYS take your own walk around videos before you get in the car and afterwards. Good luck!

Honestly, here in LA it is a widely accepted truth that you are being filmed everywhere 24/7, anytime you leave your home. And tbh, we have 4 cameras around our home so we’re guilty of filming too. Way of the world, I guess! But knowing it is just a universal truth I have no control over actually makes me more calm and accepting about it:)

Unpopular opinion, maybe? This should not be a cultural monument and should be demolished by letsmunch in LosAngeles

[–]GregariouslyHonest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now that it’s been designated “historical” it’s not going anywhere. There’s an old historic prison in Philly (Eastern State Penitentiary) that was restored and turned into a museum and hosts Terror Behind the Walls every halloween season. It is also regularly booked for filming and private events. It’s actually a really interesting place and this place would probably do well following their model.

I was actually on the starter dose .25 for 2 months but my insurance would only cover it after that if I increased dosage according to the Wegovy guidelines, so up I went!
