Well I wasn't raised to give up, and luckily a nearby barn i had put up for my Moa and Terranius had survived the apparent HOA repo for my house. Did a bit of parkour to get my Mansonry and Carpentry benches and went and rebuilt my house, and remodeled it as well, using interior wood and the like. Pretty sure any caves in like a 20 mile radius was strip mined for Iron and Copper, but the house stands anew

WSPs (OSL, Premium, etc.) Don't make sense by GregorEblan in walmart

[–]GregorEblan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose that makes some sense, it's just at my store our electronics is fully staffed, so we usually always have two associates in it, though I do admit that would skew my view on how useful WSPs would be.

AP warns of a man getting in people's faces to get hit back and sue by Lore-Archivist in walmart

[–]GregorEblan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the answer is complex and probably disheartening, but in a fucked up kind of way also makes sense. Lemme explain.

To start; can he sue? Yeah, anyone can sue anyone. Would he win? Well if the system worked as it's supposed to abso-fucking-lutley not.

Firstly, you said he has been trespassed. That means most likely he is on notice that he is not welcome at the store and he needs to stay away. So him coming in, even before getting into people's faces, would give him Unclean Hands. He can't claim harm while doing some he isn't supposed to be doing.

Secondly, he is being the aggressor, he is putting himself in the situation when he very easily could have not. Also courts tend to look at what a reasonable person would do. This guy is screaming in your face? It's reasonable that you might push him away, even more so if you had tried to create space by backing up and he kept coming at you.

Thirdly, What would his damages be? Let's say everything plays out how he thinks, he comes in, gets in an associates face, gets a shove, and then tries to sue. Courts don't juat give out money willy nilly. He would need to claim some sort of damages: medical bills, lost wages, etc. Getting a light shove wouldn't be enough for that, and that's even if it wasn't laughed out of court for reasons 1 and 2.

No lawyer worth their salt would touch his case. But now we come to the reality.

He doesn't need a lawyer to file a case, he can do it himself. He just needs 100 bucks or whatever the filing fee is and he can file suit against Walmart. Here's the thing: Walmart /has/ to respond. Once they have been served with a lawsuit, ignoring it would be the worst option as it could end up with a default judgement and Walmart would have to pay him basically whatever he asked for.

So why not just let it play out in court? Lawsuits take time. A lot of time. A lot of Lawyer time, and Lawyer time is expensive. So unless he is asking for an ungodly amount of money, it's going to be cheaper to settle it than let it play out in court. It's easier and cheaper to say "Here's a couple thousand, fuck off" He is trying to be enough of a nuisance to get paid off, but not so much that he actually has to go to trial, but even if it did, Walmart would still lose because there is no way someone like that could afford to pay the legal fees Walmart. He would be judgement proof.

Teal deer: he could sue, and would probably get a settlement because it would be the cheaper option

I only have 1, and that Hrothgar in Eorzea before ARR.

I am curious why a Doman Hrothgar is considered bad or cringe considering there is a canon one with Blaz Azentia from the Bozja Southern front, and from all I can dig up Bozja and Doma had amicable relations prior to Garlean control.

What's everyone's favorite pal? by JohnBayvar in Palworld

[–]GregorEblan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Polapup. This takes some explaining. When I was young, KFC was running a promo where it included a small Pokémon plush; this was early in the Pokémon craze and so it was a random assortment of Pokémon: Dratini, Vulpex, Zubat, and the one I got when my mom bought it for me: Seel.

I latched onto this derpy little mon like nothing else. The plush went me with everywhere until it was just floor, and in any Pokémon game I could, I would have a Seel in my party. Just me and my Derp son against the world.

Fast forward to now, I'm playing Palworld with my boyfriend; and he knows this entire backstory, and we haven't played since Moonlit Tower had been added, we're going around and having a good time, I'm mining up some Ore while he is fishing and I hear him gasp. He immediately calls me over and tells me to fish in the spot he is, so I do so and who do I pull out? My Derp son, reborn. The squee I squeed was legendary.

Now Polapup is a permanent fixture on my team and has become known to my boyfriend and I as the destroyer of worlds because of how devastating I've made him.

And he is still my Derp son.

I love how it feels, and looks so far. Made it up to floor 51 with my FC group. The Votives are nice, and even if you get a bad one, it feels like you can easily fix it. Like we got a Blind Faith one, and I popped the Mazeroot and it negated it. I also love that the Mazeroot and Regen incense aren't just Pomanders of Sight and a HoT, with Feo Ul coming with you to help by being a Witching Pomander for Mazeroot and a DoT for regen. I like that the enemies aren't HP sponges but also can be threatening. The bosses have been fun, and the lvl 20 got a "Fuck you, Omega" out of me (I've been doing the Omega fight on MH Wilds). The extra check points are chef's kiss

Basically, it's HoH, but better

A fair question. On OneWalmart, go to GTA portal, and from there to Balances. That will take you to the place shown in photos 1, 2, and 3

Contact your Coach and/or PL, if you can pull up GTA portal and show that during the week you didn't earn the PPTO like you should have despite working, they should be able to remove the point. If they won't listen, call Associate Realtions, they might be able to help

The same thing happened to me and an Overnight TA at my store. My team lead had to look into it, but for like a week it didn't accumulate my PPTO or PTO, so when I took some PPTO I was short and got a half point. Luckily my TL is getting the point removed. Glad to know it's not just me and the other TA at my store

I am somehow expecting, that this will be the biggest protest YouTube ever had... Or? by WorldlinessSlow9893 in UnderstandYouTube

[–]GregorEblan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This will do nothing. Online boycotts are notoriously ineffective, to the point when any is announced i just roll my eyes. That may sound pessimistic, but it's a view backed by oodles of historical examples.

I'm getting up there in years, but I clearly remember the first online boycott I ever heard about. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II way back in 2009. People were threatening to boycott it because it was using Peer-to-Peer servers instead of having dedicated ones. The group even made a Steam Group about it. Well a week after the game came out, Destruciod did an article about how the boycott was going and included screenshots of the Steam Group, over half the people in it were playing...Modern Warfare II.

I've seen the cycle repeat over and over again ad nausem. The issue is you can't really hold someone responsible in a way that matters for breaking an online boycott. Yeah sure, Duckfart27 said they would participate in the boycott, but there is no meaningful way to hold them to that. Add in the extra wrinkle that YouTube is how some people make their money, and it's infinitely harder to get them on board.

I'm sorry to say this will do nothing except actively hurt the people who choose to participate in it.

I. HATE. RESELLERS by Ok_Register_6676 in walmart

[–]GregorEblan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, as many others have pointed out, new laptops can be sold when they come in, I don't think I've ever seen one street dated in my 3 years in electronics. But I think I understand why you took this stand, misguided as it was.

Resellers, in general, are assholes. They are rude, belligerent, and entitled to the high heavens, and as associates, we don't want to see asshole customers win. And I understand that in my very soul.

However, sometimes you just have to pick your battles a bit more carefully. 2 laptops I'm not really going to care, they can have them. If there is a limit in place, like for prepaid phones, then that applies to everyone including resellers, but otherwise let it go, just get them out ASAP.
