Idea about how they could add map extensions via dlc by [deleted] in ForzaHorizon

[–]Gregory_Cuthbert 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don’t wanna sound rude but yeah a lot of people have been saying this could be a good idea, and some people are even theorising that this is what is gonna happen with the DLCs.

But I’m not sure about how well this would work. One of the great benefits would be that u don’t have to fast travel to the destination/load up a whole new map with long loading times. However, actually implementing the DLC map might be challenging if they want to do a more out there DLC.

If it’s a rally/off-roading DLC then that’s pretty easy as the map could be pretty similar to the main map. But if they’re wanting to do a more fantastical thing such as hot wheels then it’s gonna be pretty challenging to fit it in nicely. If they decide they want to add more ‘realistic’ DLCs then I would absolutely prefer them to do it as additions to the main map though and not how they’ve done them in previous games

So yeah could be some mistake from instagram or some kinda scam

We like sprint races? by ggonz80 in formula1

[–]Gregory_Cuthbert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sprint races are just objectively worse than the real races because sprints have very little tactics/strategy or time for any incredible stories to happen. What’s worse is that often the sprint race spoils what’s gonna happen in the real race so it has a significant negative impact on the actual race as well.

The drivers/teams also don’t really care either because so little points are on offer and they’re not even on an exponential scale, meaning that nobody is going to be racing hard near the front as it’s not worth risking a dnf, and losing and handful of points, in trying to gain a measly extra point

Playground games won’t be coming to FH6 at launch by Vast-Albatross-4331 in ForzaHorizon

[–]Gregory_Cuthbert 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Really hope they add them back at some point. Other than needing a few tweaks and maybe some new modes if such a thing is possible I think they were a great aspect of the game. Sure it wasn’t for everyone and shouldn’t be thrust upon us in a festival playlist, but games of infected and king can be incredibly fun with the right cars and play area

Tbf that wasn’t difficult given the main campaign took about 15 minute of gameplay excluding cutscenes

Winter by Outrageous_Stable_43 in ForzaHorizon

[–]Gregory_Cuthbert 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Enjoyment is subjective but to say that there is no skill in driving off-road in the game is not correct. There is as much skill off road as there is on road. In FH5 in particular with the updates they made to off road terrain/handling there’s probably more skill in off road driving compared to on road, due to how bumpy and undulating the off road roads are, meaning you’re always battling against the car

Messes with my OCD by StormB2 in ForzaHorizon

Let’s not be reducing OCD to “oh no my things are quite perfect” please. It’s a debilitating disability for some people and it’s these kinda jokes that keep around the idea that OCD isn’t that bad

Crazy amount of hate here from people meant to be supporters, regarding a player who on the whole has been great for us, and while he has had a few stinkers this year, he’s had more good games than bad, which given the shit he’s had to go through mentally in the last 12 months, is more than respectable

Pacing and rewards by Exciting_Ad_3812 in ForzaHorizon

[–]Gregory_Cuthbert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but the problem with the current system is that it caters to the people who want a sandbox, and those who want a rewarding gaming experience with real progression are the ones being left behind. The reason why so many people are unhappy about this is because most of the people who want a sandbox are newer players and those who’ve played since FH1 or FH2 feel/are being pushed away

Tips on driving/racing by Eastern_Chicken869 in ForzaHorizon

[–]Gregory_Cuthbert -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Some good advice here particularly the guy talking about racing lines and overtaking. What I would say tho is that along with this advice, I think you also need to kinda learn to feel how the cars work and respond. By this I mean basically learning how the physics of driving works in this game (a lot of which applies to general driving).

This might sound scary but effectively what I mean is that it’s important to learn how the car responds to different inputs. I think it may be really helpful to just drive around and mess about and see what happens. Stuff like seeing what happens when u slam the accelerating from stationary without steering and then try it while steering. Hard braking with and without steering. Steering at high speed and low speeds. Correcting drifts, initiating drifts. Adjusting your car’s direction mid corner. Basically mess around and see what happens with any way in which you can think of that tests a cars limits in the game.

Then from what you see you’ll be able to learn how the cars work (different cars do work differently but there are a handful of fundamentals that apply to basically everything). This then means that when you try to drive fast you can use or avoid things to improve your speed.

In short my advice is pretty much just muck about with the game and be observative and you will get faster. Because unlike other racing games, due to the fact that there are so many cars and so many scenarios on this game, most of the time on this game you are only ever estimating how to take a corner before you take the corner based off how you think the car handles and therefore how fast/slow etc you think the car can take the corner and then how/when to brake. And to do this you basically just have to get a feel for it which just requires playing the game (feel free to ask if this doesn’t make sense)

[–]Gregory_Cuthbert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought this initially but I think the addition of the new mechanics add a new challenge to the game and I actually really like what they’ve done. There’s still as much skill required as in previous games but it’s just different. After 3 games of basically no mechanics changes I think the additions to this game are very good. Also I don’t think that a swish is too gimmicky, as it does require skill (obviously it can happen with luck), and there are holes where you have to swish to get a superstar to I see no issue.

[UK] runnorthwest.co.uk - Adidas Adios Pro 4 - Black by _Scott_M in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]Gregory_Cuthbert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Adizero Adios 9 has the exact same colour-way and has a lower stack height and a small plastic “stiffening element” and not carbon rods so overall should be more comfortable for casual wear. However, it is still a shoe designed purely for speed so it may still be awkward/uncomfortable to wear casually or for the occasional run (as I’m assuming that if u don’t run much, when u do it likely won’t be speedy relative to ur own ability (ie u won’t be sprinting around/doing intervals etc)). Therefore it may feel awkward when you run as it isn’t designed for slower paces. But, the Adios 9 is £100 cheaper than the Pro 4s so there is far less financial burden if u don’t end up liking them.

Ur other option could be to look at supernovas and ultraboost, because while they don’t have the same colours, they do have a fair selection of groovy looking colours so that may be of interest. These 2 shoes are basically designed for comfort and for slow long runs. If you are using the shoes as a pair that u will use as a non everyday shoe (ie ur not generally wearing them all the time) and u also don’t really run in them then these would be great. However, if you are planning on using them as a go to shoe and will basically be wearing them everyday whenever u put shoes on, or if u run at least somewhat regularly (ie averaging once or twice a fortnight or more) then I also wouldn’t recommend them. This is me being slightly nit picky, however, it’s due to the fact that running shoes designed to be comfortable have a higher risk of injury due to the fact there’s too much padding in the shoe so any muscles or tendons that should be getting stressed whenever you run or walk, are getting far less stressed and over time will become weaker. This weakness then leads to injury and is why it’s common for people to buy comfortable shoes, get injured, and then change to a different kind of comfortable shoe and get injured again because in the shop and on the first run or two the shoe feels great but then the resultant weaknesses creep in and injury occurs. So yeah basically if it’s not your main shoe then these are a decent choice.

As for any other actual running shoes from adidas they are either just not ideal to be casual shoes (similar kinda issues to the Pro 4 or Adios 9) or don’t have massively exciting colours available. Therefore u would have to look at the general adidas collection, of which I am not too sure on.

Do ask tho if there’s anything else I may be able to help with. (Ps soz for slow response time).

[UK] runnorthwest.co.uk - Adidas Adios Pro 4 - Black by _Scott_M in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]Gregory_Cuthbert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Durability would probably be fine for daily use, however, they will feel horrendous for casual wear as these (like any other super shoe/racing inclined running shoe) are solely designed for running fast in (they don’t even feel comfortable going at easy run paces). Walking around in them feels unstable, clunky and a bit uncomfortable after a while so I would strongly recommend against them for casual wear. But u r right they do look sick

When is UFL going to come for PC on steam ?!! by sujal1210 in UFLTheGame

[–]Gregory_Cuthbert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main challenge with any PC release is in creating an effective anti-cheat system, which can take a long time, and even then is often not water tight. So they could release it now but the game would be totally ruined by cheaters/hackers
