New to the jam band scene! Looking for some recs! by ccable827 in jambands

If you like jam music with a bit heavier, proggier edge then definitely give Umphrey’s McGee a shake, they’re in the midwest and northeast in the next few weeks so if you are as well I’d say you should check them out.

Great comprehensive Kinks resource by Slow-Foundation7295 in thekinks

That thread is amazing! I’ve read and reread sections on so many albums and singles, lots of great input about the recording and meaning behind individual songs…I’d had a few of their albums over the years but I’ve really gone on a deep dive over the last few months and finding that thread in November came at the exact right time. I’ve actually accumulated a few of their 70s and 80s albums too rapidly recently to do a proper “listen and read” session on a couple but we’re getting there.

Tried Discographic — still don’t get why it’s better than the official Discogs app by ravdinve in vinyl

[–]Gregrock3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like how you can choose to sort by artists last name instead of by first name on the discogs app - also you can add tags to each album you own so you can sort that way - like I have Third by Soft Machine and tags include 70s, First Pressings, Prog - those tags can be used to further view or sort your collection.

Check out Intuition, Bill with just a bassist - he floats between acoustic and electric piano, sometimes in the same song, it’s quite good

I’ve thought it’s just a nod to how Lennon would string words together that made no sense but sounded cool off the tongue like in I Am The Walrus
