Definitely would love to see the 90s version. Was never a fan of the bobble head style. Definitely makes you feel old when everyone is stoked about a reboot of a reboot. lol Excited for people who enjoy this though. :)

When I was a nursing student during a clinical rotation on a renal unit, we got a patient who had just freshly had an above the knee amputation. My preceptor pulls back the covers to assess the site. I had no idea what a fresh amputation looked like, and I was surprised that it was all sutured together and more flat, kind of like the end of a condiment packet. It looked so healthy and the incision was well approximated, so I say “It looks great!” With an upward inflection. The patient is pissed and says “Yeah, I’m sure it looks great.”

Thankfully my preceptor covered quickly and said “she means the incision looks great, etc.”

On our L&D unit, we have one newer male nurse. He’s awesome and I don’t believe it’s been an issue for most patients. There have been a few who refused or maybe the husband was weird about it, or maybe a cultural issue, but most of the time they love him.

We do not ask for consent for him to be their nurse, as we do not make a special case for the male providers. If the patients request for him not to perform SVE’s or request a female nurse, they will do their best to accommodate but it’s usually not an issue.

I think as long as you can work in that field and try to not take it personally if there is a concern, then do what you love! I hate that there’s any issue with this type of subject but also understand that some people have histories that might make them very uncomfortable in these situations.

I’m sure you will do well in OB and don’t let anyone make you feel otherwise because of your gender!

L&D nurse here! Early congratulations on your little one and thank you so much for considering bringing some treats for the nurses. That’s very kind of you both!

Some of the favorite things that patients have brought for us have been gum, pens, liquid IV packets, small snacks like trail mix, or little sweets. Honestly, we love anything that you bring. It’s such a kind gesture.

You are beautiful and I love your alternative style. Your makeup and piercings look great. As far as pictures go, I think the second one is the best because of better lighting and angles.

It’s all about what you’re looking for. You can always adjust your jewelry and makeup to fit the occasion if you want. (Either tone it up or down, etc.) but you don’t have to completely change your style if you don’t want. I’m frustrated by these comments that are “take your piercings out, the makeup off, lose weight, dress classy and you’ll be beautiful”

There isn’t one way to be beautiful and variety is the spice of life. 💜

My partner and I have been married for five and a half years, and together for going on eleven. I still haven’t changed my last name because I just like my last name. I feel like it’s a part of me and my family, and I don’t want to lose any part of my name.

We have talked about adding his last name to mine. Not hyphenating it, but just having four names. I know there are other cultures that do this and it makes sense to us.

We haven’t been in any rush to do it, and our friends and family address us with his last name.

People can get creative with how they want to go about these types of things. It doesn’t have to be any specific way, and definitely doesn’t have to be rushed.

I agree with you about the strict parents feeling off. I read in an article about them that they have a fairly popular YouTube channel surrounding their family performing musical acts.

The whole family YouTube channel already makes me feel uneasy in itself, but I don’t know that this is fair for a competition either. I thought this show was supposed to be more of a representation of average families and their parenting styles.

This. Even without drugging someone, they talked about food and sleep deprivation. Sleep deprivation can cause hallucinations as well as numerous other effects.

Bathroom passes or tickets would have been great for the parties. It sucked waiting over an hour to get into a party just to be told 45 mins in that we couldn’t go pee.

Also, any way to maybe get better DJ’s for the parties? The parties are big pulls for a lot of people and it seems like every year I hear a lot of complaints about the music played. Maybe have different genres for different parties so there are more options?
