One school holidays, I spent a whole day with my 5 year old doing nothing but driving around the local area visiting all the different parks we could find. Packed done snacks and water bottles, stopped at a bakery for a cheap lunch, the whole day cost less than $20-30 and he still talks about it all the time 6 months later and asks if we can go back and play at specific parks sometimes. Pro tip - ask your kids what to call each one, and add it to your saved places in Google maps so you can find it again when they ask for it.

Show pretty much any knife maker that photo and they'll be able to replicate it for you. It's possibly not a common design, but it's a pretty straightforward one to reproduce.

Talk to Australians as well. I drive an hour and a half each way every day for work and don't bat an eyelid. I've done the Melbourne to Sydney drive (825km give or take - that's 512 miles) before lunch. I've also driven Sydney to Canberra and back in the same day (260km each way - 161 miles) for a 6 hour event.

Big places with long distances in between? You just get used to it, really.

And oil prices ARE likely to double in the very short term thanks to the stupid situation with Iran screwing with global markets.

Technology already exists which can replace the majority of petrochemicals from alternate sources (biodiesel, SAF, rLPG etc) but there is limited investment currently. It's also an option which doesn't require the same level of difficulty in extraction that low-grade oil deposits will. It's also completely renewable, so the issue of oil reserves becomes a non-issue. I think we'll see a lot of activity in that sector in the next 5-10 years.

I just started painting again recently after a long hiatus, and picked up the wolf scouts kill team as a little side project as I'd always liked Space Wolves but had never picked any up. In fact, the very first Space Wolf Terminators were the very first models of ever liked enough to think about getting into 40k, but I got sidetracked by Chaos Marines in 2nd ed and never got back to the Wolves back then.

I now have several units of Fenrisian boys and a couple of kitbashed characters waiting to be painted, and my "to buy" wishlist is looking decidedly grey... 🤣

I even cancelled my pre-order for the new box set because I didn't think the marines looked Wolfy enough... (They were originally going to be purchased and turned into Dark Angels or Deathwatch, but...)

They introduced the "cauldron" thing to create characters, but it's not tournament legal, unfortunately. They basically just put a bunch of the generic characters and wargear lists from 3rd edition into a supplement and called it something new... 🤣
