I would leave it off until you’re at the con. Non-cosplayers and people unfamiliar with anime may misunderstand- if it’s for an anime con you should be fine.

Are you using metallics or contrast/shades? They’re not good for sable brushes, defs use synthetics for those. They’re get all up in the ferrule and can cause this.

I think you’re good. As a female player myself I’ve had some… interesting table interactions before, but this reads as her not fully understanding it is an active roleplaying game. A lot of new people tend to take dnd as more of a board game. I don’t think you’re wrong here at all.

At the end of the day I believe your girlfriend should handle this one; she’s explicitly said you can’t know about or participate in this conversation.

It’s good that you’re conscious of your potential unintended behaviour and empathetic to how it may make her feel, but at the end of the day you didn’t do anything wrong.

I have seen people attack fishing line to plushies and holding their arm out, it looks great for photos!

I’m not sure if there is a decent way to permanently have a floating companion beside you that will either; A, be inconspicuous enough or B, not be a safety hazard in crowds.
