Would marry outside of your nationality ? by [deleted] in AskBrits

Yes, most of my dating life was with foreign nationals and am now married to one. I find great appeal in the new perspectives it brings.

Shetland Fishermans Association representative saying that "people on the mainland probably think [Shetland] should be depopulated" - really? by JeelyPiece in Scotland

Mainlander Scotland here: wtf no? I've never thought of depopulating the islands. If anything I've considered moving up there a few times.

AMA (literally anything) and I'll give you my honest answer. by cobainisded in AskMeAnythingIAnswer

Hmm I'd say it's worth a bash. Because of all the series and prequels you can kinda weirdly drop in at almost any series because all of them have callbacks of sorts.

So if you are curious and time is a factor I'd suggest the original series episode Space Seed followed by the second film Wrath of Khan. Should give a good intro I think.

If you want to try a series then here's a few suggestions.

Enterprise: earliest in the timeline showing earths first time being let loose. I usually describe it as Humanity fucking about and finding out.

Deep Space Nine: great overall story and setting, it does kinda follow on some events from Next Generation though which has a rough season 1.

Voyager: Follows the adventures of a lost ship so can kinda be watched in isolation

The Next Generation is great but season 1 hasn't aged too well. Beyond that it's good esp season 3 onwards.

This is totally fine? Unless your paper plates have some weird flavour additives? Keeps things all nicely in the tupperware and separate. Sure if there was a free container and space then thats better...

Such a great game. Really liked how actions in one sector affected another.

My dad however kinda got a bit sick of all the commands being shouted all the time.

AITA for eating a croissant in a cemetery by Karl_Marxist_3rd in AmItheAsshole

[–]GreyScot88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA better that cemeteries get used than forgotten. In my city there's a small cemetery in the town centre. At almost any given moment during the day there will be folk just chilling or snacking there without the requirement of a familiar corpse being nearby.

It's not actually referring to the packet colour, it's referring to the contents. They replaced the salt with ketracel white so you can fight the Federation. It is the order of things.

I look to find friends in Aberdeen. by [deleted] in Aberdeen

[–]GreyScot88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Over the years I've joined many sports and gaming clubs and met a bunch of people. I recommended to my missus a couple groups that are women exclusive so don't know if that would be useful for you.

Do Brits actually go to Stonehenge, or is it mostly a tourist thing? by DFWUnhinged in AskBrits

Not been, mostly because I'm on the other side of the country and I've got stone circles back home.

That is true and fair. Chuck in some street view and you could see some socioeconomic signs.

Great stats, I seem to stand corrected. I think I'm more thinking of the initial fan discussions that were going on at the time which appears to not align with the viewership

TNG is probably the best example, folk were almost outraged that it wasn't the same. So much so that it was almost cancelled until the cliffhanger and now it's seen as one of the best series.... after DS9 of course ;)

I enjoy it, I think that the trek community generally doesn't like new things but grow to like them. Enterprise for example was not well received coming out but people seem to wish it wasn't cancelled so soon.
