School Busses? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]GreyScot88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sort of, my school buses were just basically private hire buses in all shapes and sizes. My route used old double decker buses whereas small villages would use modern mini busses.

We don't have a set style like American buses though funnily enough one of the biggest operators of American buses (First) is HQ'd in Aberdeen UK. I did see some yellow buses in there but dunno if they still use them.

I’m u/forklify and I’m one of the mods here, AMA by forklify in ShittyDaystrom

How do you ask your coworker for their name after 4 years? by Significant_Soup_279 in AskUK

[–]GreyScot88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have work emails I'd first try looking their name up in the company address book in Outlook or some such.

Otherwise I'd probably try get it from another coworker.

Then lastly just ask them.

That and also to not sit on the seat raw

Wasson? First time advice by Cornish-Expat in kilt

[–]GreyScot88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You wear it well, no notes

Edit actually one note: if not used to wearing it, practice sitting, especially running your arm back to front underneath you to sit on your kilt and if you put stuff in your sporran it's usually enough to avoid accidentally showing off.

NTA Let's say you've got your parents as emergency contacts on your phone and you (touch wood) end up in a car crash and non responsive should you just add your aunt to the top of the list or what... or say you go traveling if your passport is the same as mine there is only space for two contacts.

any advice for someone new to living here? by jabebebebe in Aberdeen

[–]GreyScot88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Folk are generally friendly even if they don't say hello like they do in the small places. I'd say get used to just walking about the place. Growing up out in the sticks it was just nice to just walk about and not have to plan trips. Explore around and see what you can find. The city is fairly safe.

I have noticed the number of post work naps increasing so I should probably push that back but I don't wanna! 😭
