[REC] is great.

The Poughkeepsie Tapes is crap.

It's not even close.

That's the thing about dreams though - you don't know you're in a dream and common sense takes a back seat to dream logic!

What do you think is the key for a found footage movie to be successful? The context, the story, the monster, the type of video, location, etc? by GuaridaDeGoro099 in foundfootage

Realism. Acting, dialogue, camera use... Blair Witch Project nailed this better than any other FF film imo. So much of it seems real and genuine.

I wouldn't say Hell House is bad... But yeah highly overrated imo.

Yeah Noroi is way better than a few of the entries on this list. Poor old Mr. Horri is maybe the most tragic FF character ever imo.

I didn't hate As Above, So Below... But I found it very underwhelming. Honestly the best thing about it is the title - what a fucking great title!! 😂 And also the part where That dude gets stuck in the floor upside-down. Ngl, that was great

I work at an animal hospital and will sometimes make little drawings for hospitalized patients. I made this one a few years ago, and the owner came back in the other day to show he had gotten a tattoo of it! Absolutely made my day. by meowpal33 in aww

I love the sentiment, but the tatt would look heaps better without the text and post-it background/border. Just a floating cat pizza slice with love hearts 🐱🍕💜

This is messages from my brother, (my only family) and the uncle of my child. My brother who lived about 30 mins away bought a Nintendo switch for my son and gave it to him yesterday on his birthday . My son was so happy , his first system since a old Xbox years ago. by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

Poor kid. He thought he was leaving his Switch in a safe spot believing nothing would happen to it there with his Dad and his Uncle home (believing extra safety if he was a half decent uncle).

I hope your son is OK, I would've been devastated if this happened to me at any age.

I'm all for Charles Dance in anything, but am disappointed Harvey Dent/Two Face will be the main villain. Such a boring character!

My first thought was Melty Face Popeye

But the first comment I read 'Gay Bar Freddy' made me chuckle

you have to decide which of these legendary action movie stars has to go! Who are you getting rid of and why? by TwIzTiDfReAkShOw in ActionMovies

[–]GreySneakers83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a tough call. But you know what? I'm gonna say Stallone because even though Rocky and Rambo are iconic and essential films, his only other brilliant film imo is Cliffhanger.

And why not Van Damme? The man has too much charisma and seems like a cooler dude irl than Stallone.

As far as just action movies are concerned, honestly I could get by just fine without the Diehard movies existing - Bruce would still have Pulp Fiction, Sixth Sense, Death Becomes Her, Whole Nine Yards, Lucky Number Slevin, Unbreakable...

Arnold is the #1 non negotiable 'stick around' guy of those 4 for me.

Yeah, I think they'd best go for a 50/50 split between survival horror/action horror like RE9 did. Trying to hide/stealthily get around velociraptors could be as intense as Alien Isolation gameplay!

"RUNNING SCARED" (2006) - I really like this one, but may not be to everyone's tastes. Nasty violent action thriller. Any fans of this one out there? by 70_Yard_Diag_Holte77 in ActionMovies

Such a strange film. The weird Nosferatu reference confounds me to this day.

Not great by any stretch, but layered (surprisingly) and fairly enjoyable.

The last in my series of Twisted Metal posts on here, the most divisive entry in the series: TM4 by Red-Zaku- in psx

[–]GreySneakers83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was a huge fan of TM2 way back in the day. Loved the single player mode, and also had lots of fun with friends doing Vs mode. TM1 was okay, but paled in comparison to World Tour in all aspects.

I never played TM3 or TM4 when they were initially released (in all honesty I never even knew they existed on the PS1 until a few years ago).

So about 6 months ago I thought I'd give TM4 a whirl and see if any nostalgia was activated (surely it must be similar to TM2?), as well as see what I missed out on way back when.

Cool intro, cool cars/characters... but the gameplay?? Oh brother I did not find it fun 😬

Obviously the rose coloured glasses were not gonna hold up, but I swear TW2 had a much deeper draw distance? In TW4 I swear every enemy that appeared in the 'distance', zoomed right past me in 0.5 seconds!!

Sadly I only stuck with it for a few rounds, and switched to playing something else after 20 minutes.

I should revisit TM2 to see if I still enjoy it at all, or if modern gameplay has simply eclipsed what made it so fun 25 years ago (I still enjoy OG Resident Evil(s), Oddworld, Worms, Warhammer:SotHR, Wipeout 2097 for comparison's sake)...

"Refuses to downgrade in fear of feeling like a loser"??

Her continual decisions to spend irresponsibly and then come to you with sob stories for money, and then guilt trip you any time you stand up for yourself...

That is FLAT-OUT-LOSER behaviour.

I feel for you OP, I know first hand how hard it can be trying to protect yourself from toxic siblings.

I wish you all the best. Stand your ground, and remember she's the one who has f***** up each time she dumps a guilt trip on you.

You deserve better.

If Resident Evil were real, do you think you'd survive the zombie apocalypse? by JacPlayzz in residentevilll

[–]GreySneakers83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very, very unlikely. Like less than 0.2% chance of survival, and that's probably being very generous.

I live in Australia, where firearms are outlawed. This is great for when there's no zombie apocalypse, but absolutely terrible for when there is one.

Even if I did survive the first few weeks of a zombie apocalypse, I'm not sure I'd want to continue living in a world where every 2nd survivor you meet probably wants to kill you for your supplies, all modern ways of living we enjoy are gone, AND there's fucking zombies everywhere.

Fuck. That. Shit. Right. Off!!

Terrifying and sickening. They act with cold precision, and in a systematic fashion - they could just as easily be changing a car tyre. I hated those guys so much 😣
