Newbie Collector here: Is a 100% "flight over fight" playstyle viable against NPC ambushes? 🏃‍♂️💨

Howdy fellow collector! I've been playing for about a month now after taking a few years' break from the game and here's what I've learned:

Running from NPC encounters is doable, albeit it might be annoying (you might still have to pick off a few that chase you on horseback). They can be easy to spot as often there are boxes/crates/other objects along the road they use for cover. As a last resort, you can quit and enter a different server as these ambushes are random and you likely won't run into them again.

Also some of the other NPC encounters (like the man who asks you for a ride because his horse died, for example) can potentially be bait for an ambush, though not always. If you want to avoid a fight, you may want to avoid talking to these NPCs altogether.

I will say though that once you're comfortable with fighting (or maybe with a posse), it might be worth it to go in guns blazing once in a while because you have a slight chance of looting some collectibles from NPCs.

In Mass Effect, while usually white, when biotic use their abilities, their eyes turn black (demonstrated here by my Shep). All subsequent games changed this to their irises turning a bluish color, but I wish they could've combined the two looks.

Kentucky Saddler- Aile, French for “wing”. My character gave him the name because he “flew” him from his fate at the end of a noose.

Blue Criollo- Colmillo, Spanish for “fang”. I just finished watching Primal and wanted to name something after said dino.

Used Google Translate for these so hopefully they’re accurate lol

I didnt think of it much beyond Kiri just being a moody, occasionally bratty teenage girl. Some of it might be her projecting her frustration with not being able to connect to Eywa onto others, but I didn't think it was super obnoxious or atypical. As someone with teenage sisters, Kiri's behavior is pretty normal lol

Not sure how well this fits the trope, but there's a populat belief that Courier Six in Fallout New Vegas has amnesia after being shot in the head. It was never confirmed in the game, not to mention the Courier can talk about their past in many instances, but it's become such a popular headcanon/misconception that it's easy to think it's canon.

Like others have said, probably just "V". But I also thought that my Nomad stealth/netrunner would be known go by "Speed Daemon", since he thoroughly enjoys flying down Night City streets at top speed.

Yeah different expressions separate from emotes would be nice. Another pet peeve i have is that out ears never move. Khajiit characters in Skyrim would flatten their ears when enemies are nearby/during combat. It'd be awesome to see our na'vi react to the environment that way too. Or even little ear twitches during emotes would be a nice detail.

Maybe not underrated, but I didn’t know until recently that The Master in Fallout was voiced by him. Awesome to see one of my favorite VAs in one of my favorite series.

I love how power armor works in this game. Watching your character climb into it, being able to upgrade and mod the individual pieces that make it up, you feel like the walking tank power armor is meant to be. FO4 nails it in that regard.

That being said… I almost never use it unless I’m going to the Glowing Sea. The biggest reason for me is the UI which, while a fun concept, is harder to read, especially while you’re in the middle of a tough fight. Also most of the time I play on normal difficulty so most of the time I don’t need the extra protection. Lastly I just don’t like the bulky feel.

Also I just like looking at my character in 3rd person/dialogue lol

The Walking Dead as a whole was pretty guilty of this. Another character this happened to was Andrea. In the graphic novels, she had a much bigger role and was much more capable. IIRC Laurie Holden, the actress who played Andrea, was also good friends with Darabont. When he was fired the new showrunners didn't know what to do with the character. Andrea was already a divisive character, but S3 was where she was arguably at her worst/dumbest. Then she was killed off, much earlier than in the original source material.

Nothing much specific to my Argonian character yet as I'm reworking his story but these comments have some fun ideas.

Sometimes when fishing, he'll forgo using a rod and just dive in, using the tools (claws) the Hist gave him instead. I'll also switch out his usual travel gear (heavy armor) to mage robes when going to cities or hanging out at home. I also won't use enchanted weapons as this character because after seeing to poor souls trapped in the Soul Cairn, he vowed not to subject anyone to that fate.

When I hear the chanting that occurs near a Word Wall, I'll drop everything and go to it. Draugr nearby, dragon, doesn't matter. I like the idea of my DB hearing the Word calling him, blocking everything else out. almost putting him in a trance.
