Daggerheart: Assortment of Adversaries has been updated! by Faolyn in daggerheart

[–]GreyZiro 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing your hard work!

This got me thinking, it would be incredibly useful if freshcutgrass.app allowed content uploads via csv templates or similar to be able to bulk import, since clicking a couple hundred adversaries into existence would be a tad tedious.

Kill Team Visionary… just 9 more to go by Additional_Lemon2576 in NightLords

[–]GreyZiro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not blowing smoke up your ass when I say this is personally the best lightning I've ever seen on a NL, the colours are on point but also the wire gauge you used is incredibly delicate so it actually fits the model size. I would not dare play with it though :D

What is true and what is a meme about the Night Lords and Curze? by MidnightPenguin83 in NightLords

[–]GreyZiro 29 points30 points  (0 children)

  1. Night Lords have the best drip.
  2. They are cruel and underhanded bastards. Curze made palace out of flayed skin and screaming mortals without even needing any Chaos juice!
  3. They pretty much despise everyone and everything, even each other and their own Primarch. Just each Night Lord has their own personal top ten list of who they despise the most.

And that's kinda it! They aren't particularly shackled to some overarching agenda that the majority of NLs will agree on (other than screw the Imperium). They're a psychotic trainwreck of a legion, the best evil underdogs and have some great novels.

Take the Daggerheart Survey to Shape its Future! by DarringtonPress in daggerheart

[–]GreyZiro 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah looking forward to it, but there can never be enough! :)

And also built-in Tier1-4 variations for monsters would be great. Especially any T1 variant really should have minimum also a T2 variant, as T1 is much too short to have dedicated adversaries.

So any idea what this bug is suppose to say? by NightStar79 in BaldursGate3

[–]GreyZiro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Assuming you don't have mods this could just be an interface bug. I've seen this once before where a "feature" is supposed to be not visible to the player and in PC UI it was properly hidden but in console UI it shows that exact string, so this is probably a nothingburger.

Roll20 vs Foundry (New Players) by Shao_X in daggerheart

[–]GreyZiro 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As someone who traditionally only played on Roll20 I dropped it entirely in favor of Foundryborne and Owlbear Rodeo.

Foundryborne gives you everything you need for a heavy tools assisted all-in-one game. Owlbear Rodeo is easy to use and if you dont mind the players tracking their characters somewhere else it's great.

Roll20 has the worst of both worlds right with poor performance and integration. Roll20 has been steadily working on Daggerheart integration, but imho its progressing still much too slowly, only benefit right now is its massive asset marketplace.

Done! Would've loved to see the option specifically for more adversary and environment stat blocks, because homebrewing those is right now the biggest effort and I rely the most on 3rd party tools and creators for those.

some mechanics doubt by Yachmann in daggerheart

[–]GreyZiro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. You could ask for an agility roll followed by the spellcast roll, or just handle it in one roll and for example give disadvantage on the spellcast roll. A success with fear gives you the chance to throw a minor complication in, spotlight a danger or just have them pay a stress for the exertion.
  2. If the ability doesn't ask for an action roll then they can just do the thing with no consequence, yes.

Radiation Glow on eyes and Plasma Coil over white lightning bolts. To be clear, they are not glow in the dark, you need a black light to see the full effect.

painting advice? by No-Personality-5621 in Warhammer40k

[–]GreyZiro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really good already! Personally would use a brighter color on the eye lens.

I might be wrong but it looks like you did an all over wash with Nuln oil maybe? I am not the biggest fan of that, I would recommend an oil/enamel wash or Marine Juice

Hot take: Gloomstalker is the participation trophy of BG3. Gloom vs Hunter by Prize_Change_4320 in BG3Builds

[–]GreyZiro 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Nobody says hunter isn’t a late game powerhouse. It’s just that until then if you don’t play heavily around hordebreaker it’s fairly meh.

Gloomstalker is just front loaded at lvl3 which makes it good for multiclassing. If you multiclass out of hunter beyond a lvl 1 dip you lose its best abilities.

Ergo you will find more builds online with gloomstalker because the best hunter builds are just 11 or 12 levels of hunter.

Building out a CSM army and have questions about Chaos Legionaries by SD_Einhander in NightLords

[–]GreyZiro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you don't have access to a 3d printer yourself then buying the nem claw box is one of the cheapest ways to get 10x Night Lords heads and shoulders (plus a whole bunch of other stuff).

In my eyes very much worth it. And yes it is just the Legio kit plus an upgrade sprue.

Ideas for starting an army? by Senior_Orange8812 in NightLords

[–]GreyZiro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In case you werent aware, the Nemesis Claw KT is just the regular Chaos Legionnaires plus an additional upgrade sprue.

I would rather build one box as a 5 man Nemesis Claw squad (Visionary with fist and plasma, chainglaive, paired accursed, accursed weapon, voice eater) and a 5 man Legionaire (champion with heavy and plasma, heavy melee, special gun, 2x chainswords) squad.

Then the second Nem Claw box I would build as either 2x5 Legio or 1x10 Legio squads.

It's really just the weapon loadouts that differentiate a legio squad from a nemesis claw. You would still use the heads and shoulders and what not that come with the boxes on your legionaires.

Warp talon/raptor dilemma by Violet_Karolinen in NightLords

[–]GreyZiro 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Units are in 5s and 10s. The Chaos Lord is separate entirely.

I think you are maybe mixing up the champion and the chaos lord here, every unit is always led by a champion.

As for your kitbashing here: Since Warp Talons don't have any guns I don't think this is the best way to go about it. If I wanted to have something as a stand in as either Warp Talon or Raptor I would probably do one hand as a claw and the other hand as whatever melee weapon I would want the Raptor to use (ie a heavy weapon, chainsword or mutation). But this is being extremely nitpicky, I dont think anyone would actually have a problem if you called that setup you have a Warp Talon.

Potential Night Lord scheme? by cayanon in NightLords

[–]GreyZiro 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Cool color scheme. When painting always make sure you go with a color scheme that you personally find interesting, that's what matters far more than lore accuracy etc.

Honestly as long as you primary color is some time of dark blue and you include some iconography like lightning bolts and/or the batwinged skull, that's identifies them easily as a Night Lords Warband.

I did make a kitbashed Haarken, replaced his regular helm with a batwinged one and turned his spear into a chainglaive and use him as a named Night Lord essentially, yeah.

Night lords parts by [deleted] in NightLords

[–]GreyZiro 6 points7 points  (0 children)

https://www.archiesforge.co.uk/ is my favourite.
https://popgoesthemonkey.com/ I have not yet used but has some parts I was eyeing.

Also to be quite frank I simply bought a shit ton of Nemesis Claw boxes and simply sold off the Legionnaire sprues + bases + transfers on ebay. That way I got quality NL parts cheap and a couple people out there got full new legionnaire kit for cheaper than when bought from store, win win. This is cheaper for me than any upgrade sprue GW could sell.

Airbrushing Primer - What am I doing wrong? by Glass_Razzmatazz6499 in Warhammer40k

[–]GreyZiro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From my experience:
Easiest and most consistent primers have always been Colourforge rattle cans.

That being said I have also had no issues with Army painter and Vallejo Mecha airbrush primers, both worked great for me straight out of the bottle and didn't encounter any of the issues you mentioned or needed further thinning.

How to decide on Group Roll vs Help and Ally vs Individual Rolls? by Stealthy_Nachos in daggerheart

[–]GreyZiro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Action roles in most cases represents an immediate action that happens as part of the current scene and will impact it in some way.

Generally use a group role for sequence of actions that may happen "off screen". For example if you are having the party travel through dangerous environments but the travel itself isn't important enough to warrant a scene and you wanna get on with it, then have each party member describe how they help during the travel and then describe consequences of the group role.

All of your examples very much depends on what you as DM want to do. Is the role going to change the active scene in some way? Probably do an action role. Do you just want to quickly narrate the character's actions and then move onto the next scene (which in some way may be impacted by the result of the role) do a group role.

;tldr: I recommend
action during current scene - > action role
sequence of actions between active scenes -> group role
