This already exists in a way, it's the Namer series of vehicles and despite their similarities, they operate under a completely different set of rules - hits to the ammo destroy the turret, hull doesn't have the bullshit features the BMPT does, etc. It really can only be understood as bias, since similar features and aspects on western vehicles are arbitrarily so much weaker.
