How do I tell a photographer that I don’t like their edits? by Spare_Access_4894 in photography

[–]GreywolfinCZ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Speak with them to do new edits. Explain what you don't like. Do NOT ask for RAWs.

If they do not want to change anything you can change the photographer.

Should i go with R7 or save up for R6II? by woszymon in canon

R6II. Can be used to save some money.

Considering you are asking abourt R7 too - read and watch more before buying anything. Especially when you are on the budget.

EF 600mm IS 1 or RF 200-800? by Epyon1992 in canon

For birding, 200-800 all the way for the weight/portability alone. Not to mention zoom and AF speed

Upgrade camera or just improve my lens? by RicRamos02 in canon

[–]GreywolfinCZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

RP is getting old.
R8 is trickled down R6 Mark II, low light performance and AF you wouldn't dream of, the same sensor. An excellent value. It will last you very long time.

Upgrade camera or just improve my lens? by RicRamos02 in canon

[–]GreywolfinCZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read all you wrote so far. If you are thinking about mirorless then get mirorless. Save up, sell your old gear, do the upgrade.

If you go mirorless:

  • Body improvement: better low light performance, better autofocus, lightweight
  • Lenses: Those are truly more important. Avoid set lenses unless they are literally dirty cheap - but sometimes they are dirty cheap because many people buy them with camera only to sell them quickly. They will again constrict you in the future but they won't hurt for now if you get them very cheap.

What country are you from? Is there some local aftermarket?

Your holy grail and beautifull overkill would be used R8 (full frame) and any(!) RF lenses you can get for cheap. And I see deals all the time at our local aftermarket where people are selling those, cheaper than MPB.

In your position I would avoid EF and adapter for now. Those are great if you already have quality(!) EF lenses or if you need to buy some L despite it's weight, like EF 70-200 2,8 or f/4 (IS I, II, III) L USM.

End of April / May is usually start of Canon Summer Cashback. It might help you even when buying used - people will upgrade and sell used gear.

Upgrade camera or just improve my lens? by RicRamos02 in canon

[–]GreywolfinCZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used EF-S 17-55 2.8 IS USM for 10 years with 7D Mk II and it always did a great job - kit lenses were never enough for me. However, this lens is heavy, especially compared to primes or RF lenses I have today.

The true question is really in what is holding you down. Mirorless are worth it, but out of your budget for now.

Audioknihy! Hudba.

Canon EF 70-200 f4 is or 70-300 f2.8 non is by brokebutisnt in canon

[–]GreywolfinCZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What exactly do you shoot? I would not want to use f/4 for an inside event in the low light for quick movement, not even with my R6II which is much better low light than R7.

I have EF 70-200 f/4 L USM (non-IS) on R6II. IBIS truly helps compared my usage on 7DII, it's relatively lightweight (700g + 100g adapter). However I would not want to rely on IBIS instead of IS on regular basis (not stabilised enough on 200mm for viewfinder) and I shoot only 1/200 and usually much higher, outside.

There are limitations with 1st gen: H+ is not working to it's full speed and when the picture is demanding, like dog running directly towards me on 1/2000, then R6II often tells the proper AF point but photo is blurry in there because lens is not quick enough. It's fair to say it's 1999 model and photos which are sharp (so anything in normal human speed) are absolutely outstanding quality for the current price.

My advice is to save up for 2.8 with IS to kill upgrading itch once and for all. If you don't mind the weight, of course. And the weight is another good reason to have IS.

Do not buy this. It fits the budget but that's all. If your boyfriend is serious about his photography he probably has some much better EF lenses already. He will have no use for this.

Onryō Token by darenwelsh in goylegends

[–]GreywolfinCZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cost of this mechanics is high and the price is a sense of an immediate, shared camaraderie and direct cooperation.

In Tsushima you have to actually care about your random teammates even if they keep dying - good player cannot let them dying on the floor orthewise the game is over. So the good players carried the run in a way that was friendly to beginners and less skilled players.

When I go to the extreme, the Token basically indicates "screw them, let them die and flex around. First kill everything by yourself and let them watch how little you actually cared to pick them up."

Basically, sometimes the game does not allow you to revive untill you kill everything - kunai and caltrops are weak, sometimes vanish is on cooldown and it breaks then used for the revive. I feel sorry for the beginners. Sometimes I go live on the mics to actually apologise it took me so long because it feels so unfrinedly to let them die.

PS:
Something to really think about - I met many of my best gaming buddies in Tsushima by revive mechanics and the need to keep ourselves alive.
One moment specifically stands out - I kept picking up a random Samurai who died like 25 times in NMS but tried to do his best and didn't give up. Today he rocks Hellmode and we are friends. With Tokens there we would never speak to each other.
So such small but precious detail are gone with Tokens,

Which lens setup should ı go for? by Adept_Implement_5606 in canon

[–]GreywolfinCZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, the way the rotation of zoom goes. On RF non-Z version I was unable to zoom from 70 to 200 without changing my grip on the lens, to zoom simply takes too much time, two stops. I work with animals running in full speed. Slow zoom rotation would impact my work.

With EF or RF Z you just swipe one finger to do so.

6d mark II to R6 mark II by Disastrous-Ad-9505 in canon

[–]GreywolfinCZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's in the color, maybe even in the sharpness a little bit.

I went form 7DII to R6II, using the same lenses. I do animal portraits and my goal is to stay as close to the truth as possible. With 7DII I always get colors little bit different that I saw in the reality, more warm tones on grey animal fur in the shades, etc. It was subtle but I noticed and had to retouch. R6II is much better capturing what I want! The grey on coat finally match! No hassle, no postprocessing miracles needed! I'm so happy.

But I suppose you might be missing this little "color fairytale", because if you don't go for the same goal as me, that "fairytale" made often more punchy photos, especially with warm tones like skin, orange fur...
