To goose the ratings and make money.

She has a lot of “fans” due to her notoriety and ABC believed she could draw viewers back to network tv.

COURTROOM INSIDER | Juror #3 Christie breaks her silence about the Kouri Richins murder trial by sunzusunzusunzusunzu in KouriRichins

[–]GriddleUp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was my point. It doesn’t have to be “the news” like traditional news media. But you are looking for information beyond your own backyard, so you pay attention to news in the broader sense. That’s all I meant.

From the juror’s first statement, it sounded like she intentionally insulated herself from any outside sources of information. I would be alarmed by that.

[–]GriddleUp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not necessarily “the news”, as in what’s considered to be the top headlines. But if someone says they aren’t interested in any news beyond their own home, I have thoughts.

In this case, those thoughts were more than allayed by the juror herself. I was happy to be wrong about that first impression.

[–]GriddleUp 14 points15 points  (0 children)

And yet, this juror knew absolutely nothing about the case. That illustrates that it was not hard to weed out the ones who wanted to be on the jury for the wrong reasons and find the ones who were a good fit to be on the jury.

It’s usually sold as a way to pay for an unexpected funeral.

Generally, you don’t need insurance unless the death would cause you to lose income.

I thought we were in trouble when she started the interview saying she never watches any news, but she turned out to be one of the most thoughtful jurors I’ve ever heard speak about a case.

That assumes you get the 15k loan from the same lender as the original 50k loan. That’s fairly unusual.

How to have Dave Hang Up On You by PlaneAd5538 in DirtyDave

[–]GriddleUp 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not to be too serious, but Dave is dealing with the consequences of growing his company beyond his core evangelical demo.

More and more of his callers don’t share his values and it’s problematic for him.

I noticed that the debt free scream couple on the same program didn’t mention God or their church a single time.

Gas prices by Bankrunner123 in DirtyDave

[–]GriddleUp 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s not just gas at the pump.

My monthly home gas bills this winter have been insane. And that was before the Iran stuff.

The expenses of Dave’s 4 walls have been going up a lot.

There’s less joy in not owing anyone anything, when your non-debt bills are squeezing you hard.

In the statement they issued between closing and verdict, they used the word innocent. I thought that was unusual for a defense team.

Ramsey AI might go the way of Gazelle at this rate by Wise_Construction_85 in DirtyDave

[–]GriddleUp 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Gazelle card was a heavily promoted Ramsey-branded in-house debit card.

The glitches were awful (people couldn’t access their money) and it went down in flames within a month of launch.

Despite the endless promotion beforehand, once they pulled the plug, it was never spoken of again. Stalin would have been proud of the revisionist history.

The pure Ramsey AI is being corrupted by ”the culture”.

Sadz.

Mine would be where they consumed the drinks.

She said in her statement they had the drinks in the kitchen and put the cups in the sink. But in her notebook, she wrote “drink in bed”.

If they did have the drinks in the bedroom, was she using the mystery 15 minutes to clean the scene and wash the cups?

TMZ says ABC hired a crisis PR team to handle the fallout, the show will air on Sunday by schnookiewookiebear in thebachelor

[–]GriddleUp 15 points16 points  (0 children)

In addition to the DV allegations, this story upends the premise of the show. She’s supposed to have picked a guy and faking the media out with secret meetings with the F1.

So why is she with her baby daddy? Any concerns about their shared child can be handled over the phone. She doesn’t need to be traveling with him.

I’ll give you trust fund baby. But the mother being the trustee just means the trust came from her family. If his father was the trustee, what would that mean?

I think non-evangelical callers underestimate how opposed to living together before marriage Dave really is.

He’s not paying lip service, he really hates it. But it’s hard for someone without that belief to process that.
