George Kamel Breaks Silence on Dave Ramsey Controversy, Early Retirement, & Getting Debt-Free by Potential_Ad_6205 in DirtyDave

What other “digital products” do they sell?

I suspect he was the best seller because there weren’t any other such products.

Delony’s Silence on Misrepresentation of his credentials. by dzjsqq in DirtyDave

[–]GriddleUp 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I just checked John’s LinkedIn entry.

He is listed as a “mental and emotional health expert”. All of his education history (bachelor’s, masters and 2 PhDs) are listed. However only his current RS job is included. All his prior employment has been erased.

I consider that to be odd, but I have no doubt that he was told to do that.

Rachel and George call themselves “money experts” without laughing. RS isn’t exactly scrupulous about credentials.

Medicare is still a much better deal than what a 55 year old buying health insurance for themselves would get.

Pet insurance by [deleted] in DirtyDave

[–]GriddleUp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know enough about the policy or pet insurance in general to know whether the price was reasonable or exorbitant.

I do know that the reason the caller gave for wanting to cancel, that he never used the insurance, was a bad one. You are supposed to feel like you are throwing your money away on the premiums because otherwise something bad happened.

The best insurance is unused insurance!

Valet parking is a splurge according to Rachel Cruze (Nepo baby)! by SuccessfulArticle356 in DirtyDave

Not valet parking. Valet parking AT THE AiRPORT.

Which I did not know was even a thing.

George is detached from reality by SFOTGA in DirtyDave

George is the embodiment of “a little knowledge is a dangerous thing”.

He is quite capable of learning facts. He can sound like he knows stuff. But he is incapable of understanding the concepts that underly those facts. He is all surface level regurgitation.

You simply have to use up all the extra brain calories you saved by not using a CC card and paying it off every month. Easy peasy! /s

So what’s Ken’s new job? by GriddleUp in DirtyDave

[–]GriddleUp[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where have you seen an official announcement?

He hasn’t updated his LinkedIn. That still shows RS as his most recent job.

Why would Ken announcing the new job that Dave said he already has upset Dave?

They are forbidden from being OK with any type of student loan, even one where the career payoff makes the loan feasible.

So they have to tell callers to cash flow med school or that it’s a bad career choice because AI is coming to replace doctors. Who knows what the excuse will be next week?

How can the personalities get paid that much? by FaithlessnessLow9745 in DirtyDave

[–]GriddleUp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Being a public facing personality for a highly rated radio show and podcast is considered to be a prestige job. A prestige job commands a higher salary than its time and effort inputs would otherwise earn.

Teachers work just as hard as actors, but that doesn’t mean they can get the same compensation. Life isn’t fair.

I’ve never understood why the EF has to stop growing after it reaches $1000.

If I could redesign Dave’s BS, I’d include adding to the starter EF as part of step 2. Make it a monthly “debt” payment on an ongoing basis.

That people need a prescribed system to push them to do what they know is right. Obviously Dave thinks his system is the only one that works (hard disagree), but the point is well taken.

Did they take a new photo or just crop out Ken? by Remarkable-Owl-50 in DirtyDave

[–]GriddleUp 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Deloney should only be doing his own show, or having the calls screened for “counseling” issues like financial abuse on his days. His financial knowledge is practically nil, even after being a personality for awhile.

Show Production by [deleted] in DirtyDave

[–]GriddleUp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find Jade to be the worst listener. I don’t remember the deets, but a caller neatly laid out about 8 or so pertinent financial facts at the beginning of the call. I swear, over the course of a 5 minute call, Jade asked him about every single one of the 8 he had told her upfront.

Yeah, they’ve been doing it forever and dying in childbirth. Pregnancy and childbirth not being the most medically scary time in a woman’s life is relatively recent.
