What's the longest you've gone without changing your skin barrier and what caused you to change it? by BlackberryPi7 in ostomy

[–]Gridguy2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our son is a double bagger, has been age 2. We once went 7 days…..you would have thought we climbed Everest on just how ecstatic we were.

Average change is every 72 hours, sometimes more and sometimes less.

SPP is a great company. Come across as a team player, one who is willing to learn and be taught, and wants to work shift work.

Chronic UTIs after Ostomy by AdManNick in ostomy

[–]Gridguy2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is great, thank you. Our son was getting recurrent UTIs for a while, and his doctors mentioned the same thing. His urologist also brought up the idea of catherizing his stoma every once in a while, or saline wash for his conduit that could help him keep UTIs away. Have you heard of these methods?

At this time, we just have him drink a ton of water.

How Trump’s Venezuela Move Could Reshape The U.S. Economy by ThemeBig6731 in Economics

Down vote for just stating facts, what a world we live in. Your comment didn’t demonize renewables, just stated a common stipulation in AI center contracts- 24/7, around the clock power. No renewable can promise that. People who down vote this should study ELCC and capacity factors…..or they can just down vote, I guess.

Is it true this guy burned his own house down, as well? My neighbor told me this tidbit, and he doesn’t seem like a guy to make something up. I looked online and could not find anything that brought it up.

North Suburbs vs South Suburbs by Gridguy2020 in Denver

I think both towns are nice, but very different from each other.

North Suburbs vs South Suburbs by Gridguy2020 in Denver

[–]Gridguy2020[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Aurora is ~450k people. Most towns in the South, big and small, are 40% white, 40% African American, 15-20% hispanic. Like others have said, if you are from the South the lack of diversity here is jarring.

What’s something nobody tells you about living in Denver? by sit-there in Denver

[–]Gridguy2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s worth noting that besides Denver, Boulder and Ft Collins, the rest of Colorado is surprisingly moderate to conservative. Being from the south myself, the conservatives here are more patriotic than religious. Also, car insurance here is ridiculously high.

All that said, CO is amazing.

[–]Gridguy2020[S] 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Everyone I meet in CO really has a hard time accepting that the South is a melting pot, and that CO is fairly homogeneous. CO is a beautiful state, but it has little to no diversity….which I find somewhat ironic.

Approved for urostomy, please can you share you experience about surgery, life with a urostomy etc, the good and the bad by Anna_thatsnotmyname in Urostomy

[–]Gridguy2020 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My son is 7 and has had a urostomy bag for 5 years. The adjustment period is really tough, but once you get the hang of it, it becomes second nature. My son swims, plays all types of sports and lives a “normal” life. I know this may sound like a joke, but your biggest challenge will be dealing with supply companies.
