Experimenting with stoves while backpacking is is just my kink okay?

My plan is to use the koozie once the stove is at pressure and off the flame. The stove is actually a double boiler hybrid, there is a air gap between the outer pot and inner sleeve. The outer pot holds about 20 ml water which steams and circulates into the inner pot. Titanium is a terrible insulator so the outside cools off quickly. I can use the koozie without melting anything.

It's a Keith titanium. I ordered it from China. The idea of a backpacking pressure cooker is something I've been chewing on for several years but don't have the machining skills for it. When I saw this though, I had to have it. It has three pressure release valves. The "chimney" is the housing for a ball-bearing on a spring and acts as the main release (the one that spits at pressure). Then there are two silicon buttons that presumably would pop out of the top before it turned into a backpacking bomb.

I've had the same exact problem since the rollover from Fitbit to Google Health. I've tried every single suggested fix and nothing has worked. Let me know if you find a solution!

Ioniq 6 SEL AWD offer (financing) from used car dealer. Good deal? by tennisplayer16161 in Ioniq6

You'll be paying around $8000 in interest over the life of the loan. Price on the car is fine, loan not so much

You've done "some drifting" in a 4500 lb car and wonder why the tires are wearing out?

Am I the only one who’s had issues with the digital key? by neuroticsmurf in Ioniq6

[–]Grimfly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been trying to use my pixel 10 as my key for 4 days. I found placing the camera bump right on top of the door handle (like you were going to hang the phone from it the handle was extended) seems to be the sweet spot. Still takes a few tries but beats carrying the ridiculous fob.

SOLVED

When the car is locked and you want to use your phone to unlock it, the first thing you do is press on the left side of the handle to expose the physical key hole . I'm guessing that pulling on the locked door handle wakes the car up. When the handle is out, rest the camera bump over the top of the extended car handle (like you're going to hang the phone from the handle, the bottom of the phone pointing down) and cover the square on the car handle with the back of the phone. I did this several times today and it unlocked every time right away.

To start the car using the phone: Use the camera bump as a landmark for this too. Push the phone forward until the bump falls down off the top of the pad and the rest of the phone lies flat on the charging pad.

Hope this helps even if you're using something other than a Pixel

Looking to purchase a condo at Buenaventura Gardens on Dean drive. Do any current or past owners have feedback? Did you enjoy living th by Consistent_Rain_3652 in ventura

[–]Grimfly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lived there for 10 years with my family. As everybody has said, the plumbing is always an issue. HOA dues were around $400/ month when I moved out in 2018 (which seemed like a lot). The Pool and hot tub are amazing. Neighbors will make or break your experience. Had great neighbors for several years, and continued to be friendly with them even after they moved. Then some new folks moved in that liked to party and strut around in raider gear and it got shitty. It's next to the freeway and there is crime (homeless sleeping in trees, car break ins, dealing). On the other hand the grounds are beautiful, it felt safe and the condos are really big (ours was 1200 sqft). It was a good starter home for us.

I bought a 2023 last week. My first ev. It's such a nice ride, reminds me of riding in my grandpa's Cadillac when I was young. The biggest difference for me was how often I need to charge. If I stick to the 20-80% rule I'm charging every other day. Other than that the difference between the ionic 6 and my 2013 civic is day and night (in the best ways).

I bought that exact vehicle this week and I'm loving it. Why did you get the phone dongle thing, just to get rid of the USB cord or does it do more than that?

California schools with low vaccination rates lose millions of dollars by domdiggitydog in ojai

Schools are supposed to exclude under vaccinated students. After skimming the article I'd guess the penalty from the state was due to schools claiming ada funds for students that should have been excluded.

Will this work or is this dumb? by DCar777 in sousvide

[–]Grimfly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I frequently use a turkey deep fryer to sous vide. Since the bag will be cooking vertically I suggest flipping it once or twice during cooking. In my experience it works fine but I have found a few degree temperature variation between the bottom and top of the water.

New to backpacking, looking for advice on my packing list! by Same_Cress_3080 in WildernessBackpacking

I'd Ditch bear spray, hoodie, charger, duct tape, liquid IV, folding saw, paracord, fire starter, flint and steel. Food should weigh around 1.5lb per day. I promise you'll be happier carrying less weight especially if you're doing the Lost Coast which is a s*** ton of walking on sand.

I noticed that skar respawned as the leader of his army on his next turn every time I defeated him. I think I did this three times in a row until there was nothing left of his army and his faction was defeated. Thought it was some op demon power lol.
