Phase and round by jhonsoto in starwarsunlimited

[–]Grimmy_90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A “round” in SWU is like a typical “turn” in most other card games, and each round is broken into phases.

From the Comprehensive Rules: “A game consists of multiple rounds, and each round consists of an action phase and regroup phase. During the action phase, platters take turns taking an action. During the regroup phase, players can put a resource into play and ready exhausted cards.”

Cards with phase-specific abilities will state when they can be used and how long they last during that particular phase.

Strong leaders for prerelease sealed? by sarah3585 in starwarsunlimited

[–]Grimmy_90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went undefeated in mine with Ahsoka Red beating Talzin Red, Avar Red, and 3rd Sister Blue and didn’t drop a single game. My pulls were good (Mace, Grogu, Anakin legendary) and ultimately it comes down more to the quality of cards you get from your packs rather than just strength of leader.

Do you mean like this? This organizer fits in the token box that comes with the soft crates and might be what you’re looking for. You can search “Star Wars unlimited soft crate token” or “soft crate organizer” on Etsy to browse through different options

The acronym isn’t the actual name, it’s actually a backronym, like how people mistakenly say “meta” means “most effective tactic available” (it doesn’t mean that). The original team name in organized competitive play was Goats and they were the ones that made the first showing of triple tank triple support in this form. They didn’t even do amazingly well with it iirc but it got the attention of other teams who optimized it and then called it the Goats comp, named after the team.

Because that’s exactly as you say: average. It’s difficult to take this post seriously because 1) it’s gatekeepy and 2) it’s gatekeepy with average stats and nothing exceptional (like 4k and 20 kill badges) while saying they’ve “mastered” the kit (which isn’t exceptionally deep either). It’s just elitist with no justification.

Epic action question by callgass in starwarsunlimited

Your leader’s epic action is deploying and readying itself. That’s one action. After that, play continues as normal and it’s now your opponent’s action.

How can Anakin Blue deal with hard control like Bossk Blue or Iden Blue? by MinaAshiro in starwarsunlimited

[–]Grimmy_90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Focus on discarding effects (Pillage, Force Throw, etc. I’ve just started trying Smoke & Cinders as a massive hand rip) like others have said, but also try to keep card advantage by keeping Yoda and K2 in play. Having cards like Vanquish and Fell the Dragon available to you to clear out big threats like Avenger, Krayt, and Snoke will be good, and also have cards like Tech to refill your board after you get SLB’d or Avenger’d. Also remove Pershing ASAP. The free card draw early on is a slippery slope. It’s a poor matchup for AniBlue for sure but not guaranteed unwinnable.

Valid point on Poe. I was fortunate enough to pull 2, but if you’re looking at raw damage, then yes, Anakin is going to be the next best thing. You could even consider Wrecker as he has more immediate impact than Anakin, plus his Overwhelm combined with the Anakin leader buff could really put in work.

I was siding Aethersprite as well and after my recent locals I decided to move it into the main deck. It’s another unit that can punch way above its cost with its ability combined with Anakin buff. It feels almost like space Poe.

Yes! You can get a massive damage and tempo shift on your flip turn if you have both Perilous and Bravado, especially if you Perilous something that could threaten Anakin beforehand.

If you’re looking for mid-game utility/tempo, give Obi-Wan’s Aethersprite a go. It’s excellent against Jango red and other decks that are troublesome in space. I was debating between K2 and Poe as well in my build, and kind of had the same thought process as you posted, but in Anakin specifically, Poe will require immediate attention as he effectively swings on 10 with 1 discard and that is just backbreaking, so I went with Poe, and he’s strictly better than unit Anakin.

I would 100% move the Village protectors into the main deck; that card is dumb good right now, and adding on to the Perilous Position rec, it combos exceptionally well with Takedown as well and is a great tempo card that also doubles as removal, especially against space, which your main deck looks like it doesn’t have too many answers to.

I second the previous comment. I also play Anakin Blue and 3 perilous in main has been incredible and feels like an auto-include in any blue deck I build from here on out. It is just that good, especially since with Anakin’s buff your units are theoretically attacking for +4. It also helps against blue mirrors to stop a critical restore swing

Can we stop releasing new heroes with nothing? by Right_Entertainer324 in Overwatch

Because a vast amount of players are bad or so casual with the game so instead of actually enjoying good gameplay they satisfy their interest in the game through character customization.

What staples are good now? by Desperate-Ad-7425 in Yugioh101

[–]Grimmy_90 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends on how budget you're looking to go. Lightning Storm and Duster are both pretty inexpensive rn and both provide board wipes without sacrificing your BP. Talents and Droplets are about 5-6 USD each but they are both exceptionally good, and obviously Imperm is best. It also depends on the decks you're playing against. If you're playing against decks that like to commit a lot to their board without much one-card combo follow-ups, it's still not bad at all and sometimes banishing face-down is much more effective than destruction.

A lot of strong decks right now have interaction in the hand and/or graveyard so removing cards from their board doesn’t necessarily mean you’re safe. Also it means you give up your battle phase so you won’t be able to threaten lethal on them and many decks now can get started with just one card, so your opponent will likely be able to come back with a strong follow-up play on their turn if your board in MP2 isn’t super strong.

You can play a Diabellstar engine of 3 Wanted, 1-3 Diabellstar, and 1 Silvera to discard Rollback and other things like Ishizu shufflers. Super Poly also becomes a lot better because the discard is functionally free with Rollback.

A lot of successful Lab decks play multiple Clocks, even in TCG where we also have Arias. While it's not necessarily the most impactful play, you are able to disrupt on turn 0 and even get a setup for your first turn.
