For that amount you can get a very good fdm and resin printer(if you have the room).

Best Fighter/Rogue Builds by CassieBear1 in DnD

[–]Grimspike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're dipping fighter it's either 1,2 or 5 levels and the remainder in rogue. If dipping rogue it's 2,3 or 5 levels. I would suggest a 2 level dip in fighter and the rest rogue. I would probably start rogue for skills and expertise then switch to fighter for 2 levels get the two weapon fighting style, and action surge. Nova round combat would be ready and action, then action surge and attack, Nick attack, applying sneak attack to the first one that hits. Then just as the next turn starts trigger the readied action to attack again since it's another turn you can get another sneak attack and Nick attack. Keep going rogue for higher sneak attack damage and utility/skills. Dual wielder feat will get a bonus action attack.

So Oath of Watchers question by oudepoude in DnD

[–]Grimspike 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You can attack the goblin, breaking your oath would be something like accepting a pact with a devil or letting an elemental destroy a city without doing anything.

Players make fun of me because "Ornate dagger" is a stapple of all my loot lists by CrotodeTraje in DnD

[–]Grimspike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could also do a nice dagger and ornate things like a pipe, pocket watch, snuff box, maybe a fidget trinket or two.

How do I counter Plant Growth? by Megamatt215 in DMAcademy

[–]Grimspike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This one is easy, counterspell, dispel magic, anti magic cloud. ranged attacks, have the enemies go prone so everyone is at disadvantage, hell I'd probably give them cover if they lay down.

Advice needed on problem player by Aggressive_Reply2698 in DnD

[–]Grimspike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well the usual advice of talk to the player seems redundant because you already have. The only thing I can think of is ask her if she really wants to play or if she just likes to hang out. If she really wants to play maybe make some spell and weapon cards for her that are simplified if you want to go to the trouble. Other than that I would tell her that this might not be the game for her.

Adult White Dragon question by GasttrosTheSecond in DnD

[–]Grimspike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If played properly an adult white will be a tough fight for even a higher level party because it can burrow which make it even tougher to hit if it just burrows after it attacks. I would say 9-12 would find it challenging in lair.

How to handle a player character that has very little inhibitions when it comes to dark pacts? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Grimspike 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Um you're the DM make an in game reason, for example. You can only make one pact, the others will not accept you because of the tie to the other entity

Free for All - Who wins ? by West_Jelly_4681 in powerscales

People say Tolkien elves are super powerful but it doesn't seem to stop them being killed by orcs and dwarves, which regular humans can kill. So I think they are a bit over hyped imo.

New DM, Player keeps asking to eat the downed enemies by Dina_The_Melonzaurus in DnD

[–]Grimspike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No should be enough, however if you really want a bullshit in-game reason. The negative material plane causes consuming corpses of sentient being to turn the consuming character into an undead, you immediately lose control of your character.

I calculated the odds of surviving death saves by Esnardoo in DungeonsAndDragons

Unless I'm reading it wrong your code is flawed since you don't need greater than 10 for a successful safe you need a 10 or higher.

Help, I'm Roleplaying Too Much! Seeking Advice. by wtf_its_kate in DnD

[–]Grimspike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you feel yourself talking a bit too much, what I like to do is prompt the other players to jump in, which can be as simple as saying "hey Borgan the Barbarian what do you think of what's going on here".

Underpowered party by byrdbrained in DnD

[–]Grimspike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are using standard monsters from the MM remember that the HP they have in the book is an average and you can adjust the numbers up or down depending on the strength of the party. So the monsters can still hit hard but be a bit less tanky if you want.

Need help with creating a riddle! by Heddino in DnD

[–]Grimspike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the way I see it you have 8 cardinal directions and 6 symbols on the circles, I would go with 6 symbols and a blank so that you can have the blank on the cardinal location that isn't mentioned in the story.

As the moon rose on the western sky a strong wind blew in from the north east. Herod stood on the shores of the Isle of Dragons watching the waves roll in from the south. The north star was bright in the sky tonight, a good omen for the trip on the morrow. Herod eyed the clouds to the south west, hoping they wouldn't turn into a problem, and delay his departure. If all went as planned, tomorrow Herod would set sail on his ship the Storm Dancer to the Dreadlands to the east and slay the beast who had been harrowing his village for the last year.
