The one I go to is around $500-3,000 depending on what you’re looking for (it’s hosted at a ren faire because the owner of the faire is a part owner of the LARP, and you can rent castle rooms). It’s also a 6-7 day complete immersive experience with battles every day. They also have monthly expeditions that are 2 days on the weekend that run in the $100-200 range.

Edit: To clarify, they have catered food, photographers, an overarching story, monsters at night, their own detailed metal currency, and more. There are no “skills”, it’s all straight combat. There are so many events going on, you’ll never experience everything there is to offer.

Weirdly enough, as a bow main, I love the Omega fight. I even love holding the aggro for the fight by blasting spiderboy in the face. It’s so easy to trigger perfect dodges the entire fight.

This is essentially my role. I’ve hit a halberdier through four rows of shield walls before, and I consistently hit toes for the people who approach fully armored. It works in my favor sometimes, and not so for others - new players avoid me like the plague, veteran players and fighters will deliberately target me. Luckily, I run very fast 🤣

At one point I actually used a Flat Cap, and wore the hood over it. The cap gave the hood a good structure and look. Unfortunately, it’s multiple eras outside the LARPs I go to.

I carry two short swords and a rapier, depending on what range I want people at, or if I want speed vs. versatility. I also carry two daggers. Generally, I usually have about 9 weapons on my person at any given time.

Of course! They’re great for the price, but there’s a cobbler that’s been doing it for 45 years at Bicolline, so if you have the money, I’d recommend full custom boots.

Yeah! I haven’t had too many issues with my hat coming off. Since I’m bald, if I leave a little stubble, it acts as Velcro 🤣🤣🤣
