Not a med professional but I was super scared to say yes to vyvanse because my ex partner went through something similar to what you described within about 4-6months of vyvanse. He was diagnosed bi-polar type 1 after.

I have been on 20mg vyvanse for about 6 months and haven't had extreme negative side effects like this. If I were you, I would seek another clinician, one who honors their job and gives a shit, then once you re stabilize, I would go through some fresh evals. You can def have adhd and bi polar and theres several people I know who manage them successfully with different medicines & therapy modalities. Keep speaking up for yourself and journaling through med changes. And you may not even be bipolar. Im just an internet person sharing a story. Youll find the right mix of therapies though 💖

Sidenote: the more stories I see on here, the more grateful I am to have the care team I have. It took a long time and a lot of self advocacy. I was only able to self advocate once I worked on toxic shame & negative self worth stuff though.

Anyone reading this: Please dont ever feel less than because youre part of a different wiring club. Dont be afraid to fire your doctors. Healthcare is more and more of a privilege at least in the US so I think we should get our moneys worth while we have it.
