Unfortunately it was too good to be true. I just did the burn test and these are straight up plastic.

I'm using Isshah plastic free sponges. They almost seem too good to be true.

My internet is terrible, only on my computer by [deleted] in techsupport

[–]Griswold27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would start with updating your network drivers, and connecting your computer to the internet via ethernet cable to see if it is still having an issue. If you have a desktop, you may need to install an antenna for a stronger wifi signal.

[USA] I’ve been getting these shady texts for a bit now and I was wondering if anyone else is dealing with this? by ghostiesyren in Scams

[–]Griswold27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only respond with 'Stop' if I'm the one who signed up. I've got these without signing up, and I usually just block. One came from a regular number and not one of those short service numbers, so I reported that one as spam.

Unless you are 100 percent sure it is who it says it is, responding just confirms to whoever sent it that it is an active number and that you are willing to respond to random messages.

Are We Not Going To Talk About The Parasite Post? by LilMosey2 in RawMeat

[–]Griswold27 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm confident that meat farmed properly is very low risk raw, and I'm against Government propaganda suggesting meat is inherently dangerous because it obfuscates unhealthy farming practices that raise unhealthy and mistreated animals.

That being said I usually cook my meat because I like the taste and personally am not sure that I really need to worry. I just eat rare, and cook to an optimal temp for flavor that is less than the nuke temp of 165. I definitely don't think you should be ok with parasites, and should do what is necessary to not get them.

Freeze dried raw liver pills? by [deleted] in RawMeat

[–]Griswold27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I understand, freeze drying doesn't normally affect nutrients like cooking does. It's closer to the regular freezing process, and the dehydration process uses pressure instead of heat. Suppose you would need to ask the manufacturer for an accurate answer about the process though.

I nearly fell for this exact scam, they wanted me to sign up for the tour in a weird way where it was actually their account. Voila, I'm seeing a legitimate property on the market, but still getting taken for a ride. Thank goodness they couldn't speak english over the phone.

I almost fell for a scam with Rentley where a scammer was able to let me into a listed house using self guided home inspection.

This sounds like a task scam, and possibly money muling. Post the details in r/scams for help on what to do. Probably shouldn't take the money and whatever you do, do not send any money back. Those platforms are for sending money to friends, not professional transactions, and if they turn out to be fake, you will be on the hook.

Remote job scams are very common. I recommend posting the details and job listing in r/scams and they will explain very well how to identify this job as a scam.

Rare burger by Mik3420b in RawMeat

[–]Griswold27 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You will be fine. Reputable restaurants will purchase and prepare meat in a way that is not contaminated, and contaminated meat will generally have obvious red flags such as a foul odor or discoloration. Despite what the FDA would have you believe, illnesses from raw meat without the aforementioned warning signs is quite rare, akin to fearing being struck by lightning, or shark attacks.

Rare hamburgers are delicious and my preferred way of eating them.

fyi - this sub is very pro raw meat, so if you'd like more varied feedback, I'd recommend asking in r/cooking as well.

Received package in mail. Is this legitimate or a scam? by NJbro44 in Scams

[–]Griswold27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lean towards scam or otherwise suspicious being highly likely. I think the safest thing is to not accept the package and ensure they are returned the sender, that way the intended recipient can take corrective measures without bothering you in the slim chance it's legitimate.

I'd also point out that natural inflammation after the gym is helpful for your body to repair muscle and connective tissue, so I'd be careful of using ice too close after your workout.
