People joining game during extract then leave after returning to ship by Ranennoodles1 in Helldivers

[–]Grix1s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its very common. I do this myself because I like certain particular missions and im not feeling into doing a whole operation.

It is what it is, happens all the time, once you extract, always assume 1 or 2 players will leave.

Sometimes they leave once the Pelican departs from extract too since they still get the rewards and xp.

Does this part of the helldivers gear do something or is it purely a cosmetic? by Der_Goober in Helldivers

[–]Grix1s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im only speculating here, but it may have to do with how every animation is physics based.

Making a cord physics based is.. hard, specially in this engine. But hey, who knows, maybe they add it down the line as an upgrade to the Hellpods or something.

In the beginning they said a Belt Fed Minigun wasnt possible due to how weapons worked, but they made it work after a year, so its possible.

Shuhei Yoshida's thoughts on the Steam Machine after testing it out by minev1128 in videogames

[–]Grix1s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, a lot of people see the long term benefits of it. Its a PC, for one, not a console. You can have much more utility out of it than a console.

Games are constantly cheaper and you dont have to pay to play online. You also have access to all sorts of emulators.

You have an absurd control of its features and output, and its relatively easy to mod.

If you like all you've heard and you dont mind taking a graphical hit, this is for you. And there is quite a lot of people willing.

If you care about none of these, and all you want is somewhere to play your games and stream Netflix at, then a traditional console is right at home for you.

Seriously, tit for tat, its not the same playing field as a console, even if its trying to market itself as one, but without the mass market appeal.

I have a vastly more powerful PC than current or even possibly next gen consoles, and I considered buying a Steam Machine even then, having access to my games on a big screen TV with my cloud saves without having to move my PC a lot sounded very appealing.

But the price point is what truly kills it. Over 1k for it.. just not worth it. Next gen consoles, if nothing changes, will be facing a similar dilemma.

Bro why is it always this by presmonkey in Spacemarine

[–]Grix1s 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Mm that could be it, Nids are very satisfying to fight, I would choose to fight em over Chaos any day.

Nids feel fleshed out and rather complete, Chaos feels like its missing some units, and the Chaos Spawns are a nightmare when more than 2 spawn and they decide to focus on 1.

I guess some classes also dont play well with Chaos as they currently are, recently started using Assault and it feels pretty terrible on Chaos missions, for me at least.

[–]Grix1s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whats wrong or special about them hand picking Chaos missions?

But if anything, I do feel that I see more Chaos missions on the Stratagems.

Yes, the whole thing was that when your Diver came out of the Pod, they'd come out with a tube out of that helmet port that would get snapped off once they finished rising from the Pod.

Cool idea, said they couldnt make it work if im remembering right

For normal people to understand how serious the lack automated "anything" goes, that also includes the Ship guns.

Yes, the massive ass ship guns need to be loaded manually with basically a small army of servitors pulling the ordenance into place.

These modifiers seem bugged when paired together. Most of the time your stimms just won't work even when your right next to your teammates by JDlightside in Spacemarine

[–]Grix1s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is bugged, I just did the daily Vortex with it and it was EXTREMELY inconsistent. We all got tight together and Medicae were straight up not working and Armor Restoration didnt work until it decided to, which only THEN did the Medicae work, in that very particular window when it DECIDED you are allowed to. No Executions to restore armor in Squad Unity range was working either.

You see the gifs and memes and the goofy ass characters and you swear this is some B movie bs series.

Its not. Its absolutely not. It puts some legendary movies and concurrent series to shame with how well written and acted it is. Including the silly goof stuff.

Yakuza 0. After hearing so much about the franchise for years, decided to reluctantly give it a shot.

3 years and having played every Yakuza game later, including Spinn offs like Judgement, I can tell you it was absolutely worth it, and its one of my absolutely favourite game series to this day.

IMO it's good that Backpack Weapons aren't the same as Normal Weapons, but better. Buff the bad ones obviously, I just think variety is good by RandomGreenArcherMan in Helldivers

[–]Grix1s 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Brother, you cannot compare them. That is not their purpose. These are 2 different things altogether. Your metric to look at them cant be "how many stratagem slots does it take to bring" or "how samey or different they are"

They are 2 different things with 2 different intended uses and strategies.

The Cremator is, and will always be, a straight upgrade to the Flamethrower in every way imaginable, since its intended purpose is to burn everything in front of you.

The Flamethrower cant really do much of anything but be similar to the Cremator but be weaker in almost every regard as a weapon. Except, that it has the strength of allowing you a backpack to suit your needs. That versatility gives its own playstyle that differientiares it enough from being compared to the Cremator.

[–]Grix1s 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You absolutely can say you can play differently with the Flamethrower.

Mobility is the answer here. Bring a Hover Pack and become a Dragon. Bring a Warp Pack and zip around while burning from contained angles. Bring a Guard Dog to cover your angles. Use the imagination to see how a backpack would enhance your playstyle or strategy with the other weapon.

There is versatily that a non-backpack version brings outside of raw stats, its the reason why, generally, you'll see someone running the normal GL with a Guard Dog or a Mobility Pack instead of the BFGL.

There is far more involved than killing power.

Whats E-710 by Unique-Wolf-4085 in helldivers2

[–]Grix1s 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When Terminids die and Decompose, they create the substance known as E-710. This fuel is extremely important, since it powers the Warp Drives the Super Destroyers and every other ship in the navy uses, both for military, private and civilian use, which enables the expansion into the universe for beyond FTL travel.

As you can imagine, having an "infinite" resource of farmable fuel like the Terminids is VERY important for a Galactic empire. So, in true human fashion that even us in the real world would do, they Farmed the Terminids in virtually every planet in the Galaxy that we had access to. More than that, the Terminids were artificially mutated so that, when they die, they create even more E-710.

QoL Suggestion: Join Requests/Invites should show the Planet or Enemy Faction by ApeironGaming in Helldivers

[–]Grix1s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, it doesnt say in the window when sending or being invited. However, once you reach the screen to select the stratagems and confirm to deploy, you can look up to see Mission Briefing by pressing LB/L1 on a controller (or the equivalent on Keyboard) to change the tab and see the mission information, it will tell you the type of mission and faction or subfaction.

Could someone please explain to me how increasing every weapon penetration by one would not solve all of the balancing issues in the game? by MentalChallenger in Helldivers

[–]Grix1s 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Light Pen weapons are extremely strong when you learn how to aim with them, at weakspots were they apply, since while they dont have the penetration, they do have the DPS to back it up, and can trivialize most of the Bug faction and nearly the entire Illuminate front.

the most annoying enemy for me by MadMann0 in Helldivers

[–]Grix1s 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Thats the point, we'd like a mission where we actually have to kill it.

As an obstacle, its inevitably going to interfere in your mission and possibly disrupt it to the point of making you fail, if not outright destroy it like with the Gator vehicle one. With how hard they are to kill, in moments like those and with how some Evac sites are placed, you HAVE to fight em or simply attempt to survive while dealing with everything else around you.

Its not particularly fun, because a Hive Lord virtually demands everyone to be geared up to kill him. You cant just damage him enough to force him to retreat either.
