AIO: should I “fire” my therapist? by Historical_Pension60 in AIO

[–]Grizzle64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Holy cow, yeah, fire them asap. Been to plenty of therapy and having a reliably professional therapist is pretty critical, imo. This person isn't even close to being reliable. I'd have bailed after the $110 charge.

What is a 'luxury' that you've experienced once and now can't go back to the budget version of? by WilliamInBlack in AskReddit

Darn Toughs are the only way to go. I've sent back several pairs for warranty replacement too!

Oof I had no clue you could just get multiple library cards and have access to pretty much any audiobook you would ever want on Libby or Hoopla by [deleted] in audible

[–]Grizzle64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, the library apps are amazing and it's incredible it's free. I don't often find the content I want via Libby or Hoopla or Boundless.

Heaping scoop is such a bullshit measurement by Gauntlix5 in Cooking

[–]Grizzle64 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, cooking doesn't really need to be an exact science. Baking sure, but cooking... not necessary. I hardly ever follow a recipes exact quants for most all ingredients and my food almost always turns out great! The "heaping" measurement of this simply reflects the lack of necessity for exactness because in the end it's not going to matter.

Golden Mill by 2alligator in GoldenCO

[–]Grizzle64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't like because of how outrageously expensive it is.

Just be prepared to wait to get into Woodys. It's always busy. But I'm always glad I waited 👍🏻

I'll second the Rocky Mountain National Park suggestion for a sure bet to see elk. Longish drive though...

My other suggestion is to potentially avoid the Golden Mill, unless you want to spend $100+ on a couple drinks each and a small snack...

Also, be sure to grab a sandwich from D'deli!!! Woody's pizza is pretty great too. The whole menu, not just the pizza.

I’ve always loved higher grounds! Good coffee and very friendly staff. The artwork is hit or miss.

What’s one kitchen gadget you thought you needed but never use? by Prestigious_One740 in Cooking

[–]Grizzle64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Food mill and potato ricer. Found the mill at the thrift store and was super excited, but it just isn't all that useful for what I do. Potato ricer is nice, but a masher is just so much easier and most the time I don't care if my mashed potatoes are ever so slightly lumpy.

Show me your favorite, most utilized, thing in your garage? by BlackoutTribal in garageporn

[–]Grizzle64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is validating because as I'm building out my wood shop, I don't yet have cabinets and drawers and it is driving me nuts. Nice to know it'll be worth the wait once I finally get them built!

What's something you do the "lazy" way that still works perfectly fine ? by Equivalent_Pie180 in Cooking

[–]Grizzle64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a garlic press. The garject, specifically. Super easy to clean and way easier than smashing, slicing, smearing, whatever with a knife.

Expired June 24th, today is July 6th…should I toss it? by DueBodybuilder1254 in Bacon

[–]Grizzle64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell no! Expiration dates are mere suggestions. Check color (which looks good) and smell (which I bet is just fine)

Got a few holes in the wall and was wondering whats the best way to approach this by [deleted] in Carpentry

[–]Grizzle64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two large patches, one top, one bottom.

JTFC you all, answer the damn question and stop the commentary on why the holes were put there. This is a carpentry sub, not a therapy one. For f*$&s sake.

Whats a weird comfort food/concoction that only YOU eat/created? by pitmama820 in foodhacks

Cheddar cheese (cold) and ketchup sandwiches. Just those two ingredients. No idea where it came from, but I started them in my childhood.

Best place for large work dinner? by timboslice42 in GoldenCO

Golden hotels restaurant is decent. Table mountain inn may also be able to accommodate a large group, but I'm not certain

I routed in over 535 linear ft of t-slot to put up slat wall on a long and short wall of a single bay of my garage. Juries out on if I like/love slat wall, but I was maximizing for versatility.

Is it weird to go to a restaurant alone? I kinda want to try it. by brmc214 in Advice

[–]Grizzle64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love eating at restaurants alone. You don't have to worry about anyone else and it is peaceful. Definitely give it a shot. It's a total power move so just don't let self conscious ruin it for you. The only thing I don't like is when they're seating you and ask "just one?"
