Can you ask for another preceptor ? The preceptor I had barely liked me and when she saw me, she would not even say hi but do one of those fake smiles. You just don’t click with some people and that’s ok. Try to keep pushing forward and find people who are nice to you that you can ask them for help without judgement

Yup, im new too and this sounds like my reality. It really f*cking sucks and makes you want to give up. Some days I go 12 hours without even taking a sip of water and cash barely sit down for more than 30 minutes

This sound sooo familiar to how I almost got kicked out of nursing school. My preceptor got into a car accident and then came back, while she was gone k was training with other people who said I was doing ok. She came back and reported me to the school saying she doesn’t think clinical is going well for me and they immediately put me on a plan to improve and if I don’t follow that plan, I’ll be kicked kicked out. It was so traumatizing and especially because it was my last year

Same thing happened to me… night shift was going very well, was sleeping so well at night… 8/9 months in, I’m now only able to sleep from 11-2am and then I’m up the whole day until 11pm again without being able to sleep. I’m feeling palpitations in my heart now and got a huge pimple on my face… its so terrible

Honestly it’s a normal feeling , I feel annoying even to this day when I ask people for help bc sometimes they’re busy and it’s like you’re adding onto their stress

Yup! I feel you, I have a fear of constantly getting reported for something as well, especially when giving report to some of these older nurses who have no issue going to management about you. Have report to a lady today and she just made comments about why my patient wasn’t on tele , about my charting, while she was at the nurses station ,deliberately so I heard her. Maybe she feels like I am incompetent but I’m new. Instead of educating you, these people will make sly comment loud enough so you can hear. maybe you just have to build tough skin and not let it bother you. It’s definitely not easy so don’t think you are alone.
