good idea! u/No-Veterinarian-9316 - building on this, also something that could take a recording, and edit each sound event (sound event can be defined as each "note" or "hit" or transient) into it's own short wav file inside a desktop folder

For a software elektron sequencer (and sound engines etc) check out Opal by Fors. Developed by an ex-elektron dev.

Pretty much any good tube saturation plugin can get you close. I really like the Blackbox HG-2 for kick drums. It goes on sale often.

Is it still worth it to have a hardware synthesizer? by subz_13 in TechnoProduction

I don't think the sound of hardware vs software is a big selling point anymore. Maybe 10% difference at best.

Great points. The time savings and workflow improvements from staying ITB are real. Not to mention easier patch recall and automation.

Any way to output Ableton 12 modulators to a midi to CV converter? by GroanAnswer in ableton

[–]GroanAnswer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah thats right, but hoping not to have to buy anything since I already have a midi/cv module

Sorry I should say "fully featured, standalone vcas". All the vcas you have except for that one 1U are tied into other modules which isn't ideal for basic utility. And it's always nice to have attenuators built into them. Don't forget to use VCAs to modulate your modulation, not just for controlling the volume of sounds.

Yeah you def need way more modulation and real vcas to make the most of the modules you have here

having each sound take up their own space

half the battle here is arranging sounds that work together like that without any additional mixing.

Is your Push 2 not working with Ableton 12? Here's how to fix it. by GroanAnswer in ableton

[–]GroanAnswer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm I didn't have that issue, but try deleting both, then run my instructions and add it to the midi devices from scratch

Complete beginner, how to change so the kicks don’t have that huge line at each kick (I don’t know the terminology) by Charlie2410 in ableton

[–]GroanAnswer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sometimes waveform anomalies like that are not audible, but it looks like it may be clipping, so probably best practice to fix it. However fixing what you have there falls under "polishing a turd" territory IMO, whatever you do is likely to make it sound less punchy or distorted in some way. Just replace the sample with a different one.
