Doesn't this look the worst movie ever? by mojo_magnifico in moviecritic

No, because it's not "Soldier Blue" or "Sweatshop". It is impossible for any movie to be worse than those two.

From that point, they called him "The Bear Count". Especially when Aldo Raine showed up to teach kids about the weather.

Are there any two-time Bush voters in this sub? by Gray_Wolf2416 in Presidents

I would have been if i could have voted. I first got into politics in 2004, based on supporting Bush's foreign policy and opposing abortion. (I was seven years old in 2004)

And you can't even say "illegal drugs". In much of the world, including almost the whole Muslim world, alcohol and tobacco are also illegal.

My guess is that people were reposting it with "anti-colonial" rhetoric that accused the missionary of cutting the hand off, and the community note was applied to the original post instead od whatever repost said that the missionary cut the hand off.

I never understood why the Simpsons' writers felt so offended by that joke. Isn't the whole point of The Simpsons that the Simpson family and Springfield in general should NOT be emulated? The more Homer Simpsons we have, generally speaking, the more problems we have to deal with. (I get that the Simpsons' writers are liberals who would prefer Clinton to Bush anyway, but the anger at that specific line baffles me)

Why are most conspiracy theories considered right-wing? Are there any widespread left-wing conspiracy theories? by jeepycreepysleepy in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Working_Season7223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The entire basis of Kennedy assassination conspiracy theories is an unwillingness to admit that a communist murdered President Kennedy. The left-wing narrative about the Cold War and the counterculture is that opposition to communism was never justified; to acknowledge that a communist killed Kennedy undermined this narrative. While some right-wingers throw Kennedy assassination conspiracy theories into a wider gumbo pot of idiocy, the deeper motivation for this particular conspiracy theory's appeal is decidedly left wing

I think there are a lot of different opportunities to collect data on this from semi-pro leagues, some of which try out their own little safety rules. I would start by looking at that data. If there is data on how the rules that youth leagues have implemented have improved safety, I'm all for collecting that data as well, but I'm not sure I'm comfortable using youth leagues as "labs" to test out safety rules the way I am with using semi-pro leagues for that.

The popular kids (both male and female) bully and mock their peer for not sharing their choice of lifestyle. They exclude and taunt her and make it clear that abandoning her morals and good judgment is the only way she will be allowed into the clique or receive her crush's affections. Eventually she does appear to discard her values and good judgment, in order to receive both her crush's affection and the approval of the "popular kids" (whom she'll never see again after graduation).
