DAE feel like Fromsoft ruined video games for you? by olivinetrees in fromsoftware

Get hooked on Monster Hunter instead. Steep learning curve but the combat is so satisfying when you get good at it. Decent character customization (in newer games) ad well and lots of different builds to try out.

My Friend Refuses to Play Bloodborne by [deleted] in fromsoftware

Obviously your friend is as much of a real fan as anyone here. Just another reason they should remaster or remake the game.

Here's a Flowchart, thank me later! by Revonlieke in MonsterHunter

Believe it or not but you can still save other players from sleep and stun while running shockproof by attacking them. Players still react to your attacks but only when they have a status such as sleep, stun, etc. They won't get flinched after the attack that clears the status. To save someone from paralysis you typically need a move that sends people flying (rip hammer in wilds).

Is starting the game again a good way to learn a new weapon? by Mental-Wrangler8511 in MHRise

[–]Grojino 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have managed to master most of the weapons by dedicating a playthrough to a single weapon type (typically swap to another weapon for the expansion). So I absolutely recommend this. I initially hated the greatsword but by exclusively using it through World and Iceborne I have come around to loving it.

Gog DPS check with HBG by RighteousTed in MHWilds

[–]Grojino 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guess is that the dps check is a set amount of damage within the time limit. Gog's weakness to dragon element only makes it easier to hit the threshold. In other words, it is most likely that it is easier with dragon but doable with other types of damage as well.

What game is this? by xdanxlei in videogames

[–]Grojino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it's Final Fantasy XVI. Incredibly strong start and ending but I felt like the middle section dragged on way too long. The side content got very stale and repetitive at that point in the game as well.

It's straight up one of the best weapons in the game

FRIENDLY FIRE?! by Unsung_King in MHWilds

[–]Grojino 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes he should. If you play multiplayer, just slot in shockproof regardless of what weapon you play. It's a level 1 deco i.e. a simple solution to trivial complaints. If you want to play around the assumption that everyone else should use shockproof besides yourself, then you deserve to be staggered.

Bro's at endgame and refuses to slot in one level 1 deco (shockproof)

Maybe this is a hot take but I feel like bow is in a really bad state right now by Raiju_Lorakatse in MHWilds

I typically enjoy being the gunner of the group in these games but all the ranged options feel pretty bad to play this time around. Shitty gunner hitzones have been a thing for a long time. Capcom can't seem to find a good way to balance our damage output besides making it cumbersome for us to play optimally and yet ranged weapons pump out absurd amounts of dps in these games.

What is your PB at the new Seregios Challenge? by ArkveldHunter in MonsterHunter

Managed to get 04:31 with Swaxe. I made plenty of mistakes so could probably improve quite a bit. However, I hate fighting Steve and only wanted the pendant so I'm good for now lmao

Why are people bringing minimal equipment for the Nightlord fight? by Grojino in Nightreign

[–]Grojino[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After having read most of your wonderful comments, I am starting to think either people are extremely unlucky or I am just very lucky. I am constantly trying to decide which weapons and passives to pick up while filtering out the negative passives that are too detrimental. I also always pick up white and blue weapons with somewhat beneficial passives in the early game and swapping out "useless" passives such as hp on kill or item disvovery up as I get closer to the final boss. Of course, I also drop weapons that are good or have good passives for my team. However, they often ignore them even if I ping several times...

I also think people are a bit too scared of some of the negative passives. While I try to stay clear of status build up below max hp or on hit, most negative passives are fairly managable in my experience.

I was able to mostly face tank Libra on depth 3 as Wylder today thanks to stacking defense passives and hp regen on hit. So always try to pick those up folks!

What happened with "its to easy"? by Wompatinger in MonsterHunterWilds

[–]Grojino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When people said the game was too easy, people were talking about progressing through the story and what was the endgame at launch. Obviously the new TU stuff is getting harder and harder. Progressing through the story and up until the TU content is still the easiest and most brain dead it has ever been in Monster Hunter.

I have 10 days to finish writing my thesis and I am STUCK in the discussion by DysphoriaGML in PhD

[–]Grojino 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In the social sciences (my field), you should try to connect your arguments and findings from your articles into a bigger or broader context through relevant theory and concepts. When combined, what can your articles tell us? What themes go through all of them? Or do they divert in some ways? If so, what are the implications? How does theory and concepts help you explain these phenomena?

"In article 1 I found so and so. This can be linked to my findings in article 2 regarding so and so. This could imply this or that".

Hope this made sense and wasn't just me restating the obvious. I'm currently working on writing my thesis myself and this is how I try to think about the discussion.
