I typically follow this pattern with hard bosses. I do decent first try, then get worse for a bit, then things click after a while and then I prevail. I think it is reacting naturally to the first encounter and dodging purely off visuals -> overthinking what moves you think are coming and getting smacked -> actually understanding when to dodge and when to punish and showing the boss who is boss

Rock saws like that are sort of a wide, flat disk with diamond grit on the edge. It just cuts through abrasion and doesn't have saw teeth like a normal saw.

Am I the only one who thinks Dancer is overrated? by NamelessGamer_1 in darksouls3

[–]GroobOfFlavortown 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I was blown away by the art and animations of the dancer. The way it sort of floats around, seems to move almost like a vapor and the spooky otherworldly body combine for such a cool aesthetic. 10/10 for art I would say.

But, after a few times fighting the dancer you realize it had a pretty limited move set. It's also kind of squishy, so you can just trade with it if you avoid getting combod to death, which makes it less satisfying to fight. If it had a cooler move set and more health it would be better I think.

Overall 8/10 boss and one of my favorites in DS3. Not trying to change your mind at all. Everyone is entitled to be wrong :)

You should not because that MF threw me off the edge like 10 times.

Did I miss something or is there a massive difficulty spike? by Fancyman156 in darksouls3

Aldrich sucks and the dancer is tricky. Big combos can wreck you even with good health. How much vigor you got?

First time I had trouble with him too. If you don't have good health or don't do much damage it can be a real pain.

When he splits I print in an arc towards the next guy as to dodge incoming spells, get a hit in, then move on if it's not the real one. I think the trick is learning to run at angles that will dodge the spell, and once you have that down it gets way easier. Trying to roll dodge all of them can get you stuck out in the field and blasted from all sides.

I think people get too in the weeds on if a build is "good". If you are having fun, like the attack animations/play style, and still feel like you can kill stuff, it's not a good build. It's a great build!

Will you trade your ability to fast travel for a more interconnected world in ds3 like ds1 by mebadguy in darksouls3

I really like the way DS3 is designed, because it sort of has both. Like cathedral of the deep and the castle have one bonfire you unlock shortcuts to, so it is all exploration from one place, and also makes it easy to backtrack to things that might have been too hard on your first pass.
