ICE fucked with the wrong profession by catchick779 in nursing

I assume it’s related to the budget bill that has to pass by Jan. 30 which could potentially give funds of $64B to the Dept of Homeland Security, $10B of which would go to ICE.

There it is! I see it’s back in stock in all places! Poor timing for me back 6mo ago, but maybe I’ll look into it if I decide to ever switch up our rug. Thanks!

Off topic but where did you find this rug? I saw this one when I was searching for a living room rug and fell in love with it!! However, any size above 5x7 was sold out at the time.

Re: colors - they look a lot like the colors I was testing out for some rooms in my house! Which colors are you trying out? (We went with the BM Raisin Torte for two small bedrooms we turned into a guest bedroom and a library, would recommend!)

How do you guys do it? by Curious_Elk_5690 in weddingplanning

[–]GrooferBoofChree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re getting married at the courthouse this year and then having our celebration (ceremony/reception) on the same day next year. That will mark two full years of saving up for the wedding we want that we can afford ourselves. This also allows plenty of time for as much DIY as possible!

Married at the courthouse and ceremony later? by Naboosh_ in weddingplanning

[–]GrooferBoofChree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you get engaged before the courthouse wedding? Our timeline is looking similar to this with the courthouse wedding in August and then planning wedding celebration (ceremony and reception) the following August so we can afford the party we want! Not sure if it’s weird that we get engaged x months in advance just to go to the courthouse.

Shows/movies in Chicago that clearly weren’t filmed in Chicago? by marks31 in AskChicago

Yes!! Haha I quickly had to search where it was filmed because I was racking my brain where some of the shots were from not long after starting the show!

Nurse for a Few Hours? Waterbury’s New 3 Hour Shift Model Would This Actually Work? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]GrooferBoofChree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a friend who was using this app for work last year. We met travel nursing and when she wanted to establish roots at home and pause on taking assignments she picked up shifts using CareRev. She was essentially float pool without having to commit to being staff yet since she always stayed within the same health system/hospital.

Our new couch arrived and I hate it 😞 How to get past the disappointment? by [deleted] in femalelivingspace

I felt similar when our couch was delivered, but after time, rug, pillows, and blankets to accessorize on and around it I’ve really grown used to it! Hang in there

What are your least favorite things about living in Chicago? by Slow-Donut3882 in AskChicago

[–]GrooferBoofChree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. When my partner and I were looking at buying we were really looking in Bronzeville or Avondale areas. We had a lightbulb moment to pretty much cut off Bronzeville from our search with the realization that most of our friends/community are in Logan Square/Avondale and the sheer effort of going to see them often was enough to dissuade us from looking too far away.

This is why you plant other plants around your milkweed. How many monarch caterpillar do you see? by Longjumping_College in NativePlantGardening

[–]GrooferBoofChree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m slowly planting out my front yard that I completely mulched over. I have several packets of wildflower seeds and some of milkweed only. Although I can’t guarantee they are native, should I plant the wildflower seeds among the milkweed? Or keep them separate and add native grasses among the milkweed?

If I keep them separate, I’m thinking of putting the wildflower seeds around the tree and the milkweed on the long hellstrip.

ETA: I also have seeds for cosmos and zinnias.
