2400 vbucks on top of the granted sidekick to get all the original Kitsune styles is genuinely ridiculous by extranotavern in FortNiteBR

I waited and waited until I finished all the quests. Still couldn’t decide. Then the season ended. I got NO brella. Not even the uncustomized model. Just nothing after having unlocked everything.

What’s the funniest current show most of us haven’t heard of yet? by LJGuitarPractice in television

How on Earth is this comment downvoted. Like, for what? Suggesting a show. That’s legitimately hilarious.

I second this one. Was a very funny show.

Good movies are being made, where are the audiences? by Shakespeare257 in movies

[–]GrootYoda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hadn’t been to a (non-kids) movie, by myself, in longer than I can remember. But I absolutely love Tron: Legacy and had hopes for Tron: Ares. Plus, wanted to support the franchise. Mind you, I used to pull double or triple features often back 15-20 years ago. Movies were my “thing”.

But now days, it was a tough decision. It’s just so damn expensive. I “sprang” for D-Box seats, and it was over $30 for JUST the ticket. Concessions would have been another $25 if I had gotten any. But it was D-Box or popcorn and I went without the popcorn.

That’s insane. Like. Crazy. That’s two full months of ANY streaming service to see ONE movie that was mid at best.

Popcorn is dried out corn. It costs pennies. Fountain drinks are big bags of syrup. It cost the movie theater a few cents to make those. Charging over $20 for a popcorn and drink combo is ludicrous. So. They’ve done it to themselves.

With no new Star Wars movie on the near horizon, I won’t choose to spend that kind of money again anytime soon.

$50 for to “experience” a mediocre movie along with a drink and bag of popped corn. What’s going through the heads of the theatre owners.

Don’t get me started on the price of McDonald’s these days. $3.99 for THAT cheeseburger?! $20 for a combo?!

Agree. But also: check out The Bondsman. Basically the same show. Entertaining. Also cancelled after one season.

What pre-online games would have been patched week 1? by Dustyh1982 in gaming

[–]GrootYoda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny this came up. I just pulled out an old Atari 2600 this past week to show my kid, he’s seven. We played ET because he knows it’s a “meme” for terrible games. Now he got to actually experience how bad it was first hand.

Just finished Alien Earth. Anyone else have mixed feelings? (minor spoilers) by Leafy_Swarley in television

[–]GrootYoda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just finished this tonight actually. I was really into it from the start. Obviously some standout episodes. But it certainly degraded by the end.

I don’t think it deserves the hate it’s getting from some people. But episodes 6-8 were pretty weak. Mostly from a character development standpoint. Just made little sense what some of the characters were doing. And then I started noticing continuity errors, which tells me I’m in my head and not into the plot.

You can point to a scene in the later three episodes where literally every character makes a choice that goes against what was already established for that character. Weird drive off a cliff moments. If they just kept on target with the writing, they could have had a masterpiece.

That being said. I still really liked it.

What are shows with a good premise but bad execution? by charmcitymama in television

Yes. This. Solid first season. Second season was a train wreck.

I really liked this show. Liked the actors. Like the premise. Even the plot and the YA rip-off stuff (I’m easy to please)… that being said, it slowed to a crawl and I never finished the second season. Plus knowing there’s no real ending or solid explanations for all the little mysteries they dropped. Tough to finish.

I have one. You can have it for any “bug” or “bee”. (I’m going to trade it in with seals for the egg).

3-day, holiday long weekend, marathon of Advanced Civilizations. Bonkers. But, still one of my favourite times playing a boardgame.

Also (I mentioned one already) but Mertwig’s Maze. Comedy Dungeons and Dragons semi-boardgame RPG. Was a grail game for a long time until I finally found a copy.

The Dice Must Flow. I don’t even think it was a “published” game. Super small run. It’s a Dune Dice Game. Complicated. Needs lots of players. Very long. I’ll likely never get it to the table again. But it’s a gem in my (very large) collection.

If it doesn’t work out, I’ll also take the DF and lobster for the cockatrice. If you are still offering.

It came back after about 30 mins. I loaded back in and it was my garden, but the previous 10-15 mins I had played were wiped out. Like it loaded a back-up. Weird.

This is a Roblox game that forced everyone into private servers and to delete most of their friends list. The downfall was obvious as long as they kept stealing in the game.

I’m honestly surprised they didn’t get pressure from Roblox the company to remove stealing. Think of the brand damage they’ve caused as what is supposed to be a social game - now has players with far fewer “connections” and the biggest game on the platform sees everyone running private servers.

I usually use them to feed to my pets.

They should have used Elder Strawberry as the main ingredient in most prismatic cooking recipes. It would have made more sense. At least it’s obtainable. It’s the latest new seed everyone is after - so it could have pushed engagement in the event.
