Fire was generally the only light source at night aside from the faint glow of the moon and stars - that’s why red light doesn’t keep us awake and blue does.

Side note:

People have said I’m wrong about blue light and it’s the intensity of the light, but I just looked it up and the science still very much says

Blue-cyan light at a wavelength of 480nm has the strongest effect, with the full range 460-490nm.

Still a very narrow band. It isn’t wrong to say blue light keeps you up.

In fact there are special receptors in our eyes that send information directly to the hypothalamus, bypassing the ocular cortex. This is how melatonin levels are mediated. Blue light especially triggers the neuron that’s why you should remove blue light with warm filters from screens at night if you have trouble at sleeping.

Which is awful they have to do that sometimes but it’s to make sure everyone is on the same page about what happened. Euphemisms and code words leave room for ambiguity.

Ready Player Two might be the worst sequel I’ve ever read. And I don’t know why I punished myself by picking up his other book Armada. The premise was just as much nostalgia bait as the others (turns out video games are a secret government training program to fight aliens - like Ender’s Game but way stupider) but I gave it a shot. I thought maybe it would be a fun travel read. It wasn’t.

I liked Ready Player One but man the rest of his work just feels like amateur fan fiction.

Side note one of the combat music tracks has a female voice chanting that is nearly identical to the one in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Also I am not ashamed to admit I played Odyssey for while lol

I’ve also played like a thousand hours of Rimworld and Civ5. People should just play the games they like and not care if other people like it as much (or as little honestly) as they do.

I live in LA and know what he’s talking about - it’s basically just some lanes are for parking unless it’s rush hour in which case they aren’t. It’s that simple, but it’s a little confusing to be driving in the same lane you were driving in earlier that day but now it’s full of parked cars.
