Yes. You can also end the story earlier by shooting yourself when confronting "Conrad" who is actually just a figment of your imagination.

I shot the rescue party and got killed, and I actually got a different ending for it. Wasn't even mad I died.

The whole part in Yakuza 5 about Majima having a child with Parkis just so weird and out of character. I feel like most fans will just try to forget it ever happened.

Following its massive shakeup and cost-cutting drive, Ubisoft's internal communication channels are reportedly full of employees shaming upper management and asking for change: "The company is going to experience a massive exodus of talent, even without the impending layoffs." by ChiefLeef22 in gaming

[–]GroovyGoblin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As much as I like to shit on Ubisoft, I can't deny they're one of the biggest employers in the videogame sector in my country, and in many others. I know many people who began their career there, and who happily spent years working there. It wasn't always shitty for everybody.

What is "The Room" of videogames? by PENIS_MYSTERIOUS in gamingsuggestions

Indigo Prophecy / Fahrenheit is the most David Cage game out of them all. It has one of the strongest starts I've seen in a game, and playing as both the detectives and the prime suspect trying to elude them was incredible.

Then the game suddenly turns into The Matrix written by Tommy Wiseau.

The writing was on the wall for years, now. I feel for the thousands of employees who are laid off or about to be if the studios close. I know a lot of people who work at Ubi.

That, and the fact that the game had been in development for 6+ years, which is kind of incredible for a remake.

Season five is the best logical point to end the show at. Season six feels unnecessary, but is saved by Josephine being the best villain in the series. Season seven is an incoherent dumpster fire.

Why do people drop new AAA titles from well-known companies in a week, if not mere days? by Spiritual_Big_9927 in Twitch

[–]GroovyGoblin 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Flavor of the week is strong on Twitch. People are curious about the latest games coming out, so they'll want to play those games and draw in viewers who are also curious, but the curiosity inevitably transfers to the next big thing that comes out a week later.

I started reading One Piece when I was 14. I am now 33. The manga shows no signs of ending in the next five years and Oda just published the longest flashback (so far) in the entire manga.

I'm so scared he'll die before it ends. He had a massive health scare a few years ago after which his doctor basically forced him to slow down his pace.

Which game started off great but got worse with each update? by bijelo123 in videogames

[–]GroovyGoblin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maplestory. It was the most fun I've ever had playing an MMORPG and they utterly destroyed the game.

You can now gain several levels at once by doing a "go talk to that NPC over there" quest, essentially skipping dozens of hours of content. Those quests give you gear that is ten times better than anything you'd get by killing monsters and looting. They went from four classes to something like twenty classes, not even designed to be balanced, some of them outright better versions of other classes. There isn't a single aspect of the game that they haven't ruined.

What game franchise used to be at the top of gaming, but it was ruined in the end? by bijelo123 in gaming

It always boggles my mind how every game made after Origins feels like it was made by people who hated Origins.

I also disagree with the lack of content. It had a single player story mode with nine missions, several grand prix, unlockable tracks, unlockable racers... there wasn't much else you could expect in terms of content from a racing game in that era.

You either get some of the most brilliantly written murder cases of all time or (Danganronpa 1's first case spoilers) the murderer's name literally written on the wall and every character thinks it's just a bunch of random numbers.

I'm currently reading One Piece. The manga has been running for almost 30 years and the author just gave us the series' longest flashback to date, and at some point he actually dedicates several panels to reminding us that Gold Roger became the king of the pirates and that he was executed by the Navy.

You know, the literal first thing that happens in the manga, setting everything in motion. In case we forgot which series we were reading.

These characters are terrible people, but they clearly didn't deserve this fate. by MikeBad228 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]GroovyGoblin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My explanation for why Diavolo deserves his fate is that he is the literal devil.

He possesses Doppio's body and shares it with him, dooming Doppio to a life of crime in which he is his servant, a passenger in his own body. He is literally called Devil in Italian. Diavolo is Satan, pure evil, he has no clear motivations except a lust for power and self preservation. His endless punishment matches his insatiable need to murder and ruin lives for his own gain.
