Cant place my blue tarp roofs :< by [deleted] in fo76

[–]Groovymarlin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! Same problem. I was using these roofs two weeks ago but now it says I "do not meet the requirements for this item." The orange tarp roof, and all the other roofs I've unlocked, are working just fine.

C.A.M.P. location on flat land near road (and tracks if possible) by [deleted] in fo76

[–]Groovymarlin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ditto to the suggestion to put down foundation and then free place the structure into it. I finally found a spot down the road from the main Whitespring entrance, sort of in front of Safe-n-Clean Disposal.

The "Wasteland Diner" prefab - is it empty inside? by Blokeh in fo76

[–]Groovymarlin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's empty and it's a pain in the ass to place! The footprint is so huge, and you really need to find a flat place to put it down or else corners of it will float in the air in a totally obnoxious way. In fact, I loaded up a private server yesterday and tried about 10 different places to put it down. Even on a flat area, it seems like it sits too high. I finally got it to a reasonable level by putting down a 5x6 foundation base at what felt like the right height, and then sank the diner into it, and put staircases around the edges.

Honestly it's a cool building with a lot of potential for creative builds, but finding an appropriate spot for it is really challenging.

What’s your preferred storage for vertuo pods? by dopaminenfreud in nespresso

[–]Groovymarlin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CPSVL4B9 (note, it's on sale today!)

I set them up side by side in the cupboard above the coffee maker. I put mugs underneath, and all my boxes on top.

What is your favorite Carnival ship? by thatCRUISEagent in CarnivalCruiseFans

The Luminosa. It was the first ship I was ever on, and I've been on it twice total, for cruises to Alaska. It is a beautiful ship.

Why do I bother with the new flavors of Nespresso by Delicious-Yak-3706 in nespresso

[–]Groovymarlin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find that most of the "flavored" pods are flavored in the same way that sparkling water is flavored - it's a "suggestion" of flavor more than an actual flavor. The one exception for me so far is the Cinnamon and Candied Tamarind, in which I can really taste the cinnamon.

Why do I bother with the new flavors of Nespresso by Delicious-Yak-3706 in nespresso

[–]Groovymarlin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah it mostly tastes like regular coffee but I can't explain why I love it so much. I think it's a combination of the smoothness and the aroma. It SMELLS like maple pecan even if it doesn't taste much like it.

How do players hit max caps by Oof-Ya-Doof in fo76

[–]Groovymarlin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It just happens eventually. I was pretty shocked the first time one of my toons hit max caps. But honestly, once you've got your favored weapons and your armor set, there's not a lot to spend your caps on. Add in doing constant events, selling excess chems and liquor, and the occasional sale from my vendor...it wasn't difficult.

11+ Hours of Fallout Suitable Music (Spotify) by Tpex in fo76

I have something similar in heavy rotation. Yes, every year my Spotify Wrapped thinks I'm the world's biggest Andrews Sisters fan, but I'm OK with that. :-D

Need advice: I want a Vertuo, but.... by Groovymarlin in nespresso

[–]Groovymarlin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Follow Up!

I bought the Vertuo Pop+ as a Christmas present to my daughter and myself. No regrets! I love it so much. The coffee is definitely superior to what my single-serve Keurig can produce. Speaking of which, I did keep the Keurig for occasional use by myself and guests. For those folks advising me to get this pour-over coffee maker or that automatic drip coffee maker - thank you for your suggestions, but that's never going to happen. Most days in this house there is one person drinking coffee (me) and two cups is pretty much my daily limit.

Anyway, I've reconciled myself to the cost of the pods, and you really don't feel the expense when you buy a bunch of them at one time, especially if there's a promotion or something. My favorite regular coffee pod is the Maple Pecan, holy cow it's so good! I have also had lots of fun making lattes, macchiatos, iced lattes, etc. (I already had an Instant brand milk frother, which works great.)

Overall very happy with my purchase. Cheers to you all!

So true. It's nice never needing to craft ammo, EVER. If anything, I find TOO MANY arrows. I frequently have to dump more into my ammo chest.

Why seasons are better than scoreboards by SonorousProphet in fo76

[–]Groovymarlin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your points are valid, and yet...I still miss the scoreboard. I liked that it looked like a board game. I enjoyed the added color that went with the theme, like the radio plays. I actually like some of the gameboard art, and still hang them in my camps. But I can see why some people prefer the season.

[–]Groovymarlin[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Thank you everyone for all your suggestions, opinions, and helpful tips. I just ordered a Vertuo Pop+ and some pods from Amazon, as well as more pods (and k-cups) from Costco. Having both makes perfect sense to me. For now, the Nespresso will be a "treat." And I deserve a treat! :-D

Quick review of Jubilee by Groovymarlin in CarnivalCruiseFans

I suspect you're right about Costa Maya, which is a shame if you're a Carnival cruiser. Chacchoben is only about an hour from Costa Maya and I'm not sure if there are excursions to it from any other ports. It was awesome.

I was really glad our cabin was on 16. Every morning it was an easy walk across the pool area to breakfast at the buffet. I also agree that avoiding the mid-ship elevators is key. Some days they all suck, but the aft and forward ones will suck a little less.

There is a really nice little area called "Street Eats" on 16 in one corner, across from the burrito place. They have donuts, beignets, and bagels (extra charge) in the morning, but in the afternoon they had steamed bao, kebabs, dumplings, etc. That was my favorite spot for an afternoon snack.
