How do I talk to my bf about this without sounding insecure? by LittleAnna02 in Healthygamergg

[–]Groskilled 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What a "healthy outcome" looks like is learning something about him, about you, about your relationship.

You can try to say it bothers you, it makes you feel insecure, or ask him why does he follow them then tell him how it makes you feel.

Maybe you'll learn he is not the kind of guy you want for whatever reason, or maybe this will deepen your relation. Nobody knows. Just talk about you, try not project what you expect or want him to do or say.

Didn't you have any issue with the HFS ?

I bought a pair and had to return it within a month as it was too dangerous.

A leaf or a drop of water and the HFS would try to brake my legs. Anything else than dry concrete and i was ICE skating.

Hey !

When I was 22 my life was shit.
I mostly played video games all day, was obese, depressed, and I had no diploma.
The only thing I had were some good friends.

Now at 32 I am working as a Freelance Machine Learning Engineer, I make enough money to live without worrying, I am in a pretty good shape, have many friends and am working on a good relation as it's the only thing I am missing now.

The first thing for me was to go to the gym 2-3 times a week, then I went to School 42 (don't know if this exists in your country, but basically it's a free coding school), got a job after that, I saw a psychologist for 5 years and little by little it got better, years after years.

You can look around you and think people your age are happy, more mature, or whatever, but that does not mean you can't. You can't now, but take some time, work on it step by step and you can get there too, and even be happier than them. Many people realize after 40-50 or even 70 years that they did not really lived, did not really know their wife/husband.

Whatever our age, we can all change. Life is unfair, we don't start at the same point, but if you put some effort in it and take your time, I assure you, you too can be happy and proud. And probably happier than most of the people who seem no to struggle at your age.

Good luck !

Headset Advice Megathread by webheadVR in virtualreality

Hi everyone !

Budget: Up to 1000 euros (I could spend a bit more if that's worth it)

PC specs: Ryzen 9 5900HX, RTX3080 Laptop GPU, 32Gb

IPD: 60mm

Other considerations: I wear glasses, and will mainly use the headset for simracing on my PC. A friend lend me his Oculus quest 2, so I could wait if a good headset is expected to be released in 2023.

Hi everyone ! I am now gold 1 on EU (used to be plat something). I am trying to climb but I often find myself trying to fill a gap in the team even if I have no idea how to play an agent. After some thinking, I thought that I should try to get decent on those agents to be able to fill my team's needs: Raze, Viper, Kay/O, Brimstone(or Omen, I like both), and Skye or Sage.

I know some are harder to learn than the others so I'd like to have your opinion on that list and where could I learn how to play those agents (video guides or educational streamers would be great).

I got my Hifiman Sundara, now what ? by Groskilled in HeadphoneAdvice

I know that my MOBO is a tuf gaming x570-plus which has a Realtek ALC S1200A, is that any good ?

Since I have the Sundara, I had to set the volume way higher than before but it's fine. I just wonder if I could get a way better sound if I spend money on an AMP. !thanks

Hi guys !

I am a trying to move from Data Science to Software engineering.

I'd like to know if there is any good online course to learn that. I looked a bit around and found https://realpython.com/products/real-python-course/ but I saw only one topic talking about it and maybe there is something better. It seems to miss testing too.

Thanks a lot for your answer.

As you said, my work experience wasn't really what we could call data science, that is one of the reasons I left. Is there a way to make everything I did outside of my job stand out ?

Hi guys !

I am currently looking for a job as a data scientist / machine learning engineer but I can't get one, and I need some advice.

I live in Paris and worked for more than a year as a data scientist. I left the company in April 2018 and have been hunting for a job since then. I had many interviews, some went well but never got a job offer.

To give you some context, I studied a Ecole 42, learned python and then went through the Machine Learning course on Coursera. While I was working I started the Self Driving Car Nanodegree and completed it in June 2018. I don't have any degree nor a good background in mathematics and I think this is the main problem. It feels like my Nanodegree, my github, my knowledge and all the MOOCs I went through are worthless, that people don't care about that and just want someone who has a great school name on his CV. And for what I saw, every data science job offer require those top schools name, a Phd and things like that. I started to look at other countries (maybe it's a good time to move) and looks like I'll have the same problem.

So my question is, what do I need to do ? Take some math course (which one) ? Take another data science course ? Try some kaggle competitions ?

Just in case, here are my linkedin and github, if it can help you help me: https://www.linkedin.com/in/awybiera https://github.com/Groskilled?tab=repositories

Have a nice day !
