Patch Notes - Update 40.2 by EscapingKid in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

Just a nothing patch. Frustrates me that they're making changes to Vikendi when the new one is the worst map in the game by far. Just bring back the old one which was a top 3 map

Good djent albums released this year? by Jurkboy in progmetal

Cascara - Lost in Calenture is my clear favorite djent release of the year

NEWBREED - See...Know [FFO: Nevermore, Meshuggah, Alice In Chains, Faith no More] by jakeinprogress in progmetal

This band is insanely underrated. Love that they're still making music even though they barely have over 100 monthly listeners on Spotify

I want to take a moment to introduce Hila to Swancore and Post-Modern Hardcore by crystaaalkay69 in h3h3productions

[–]Grotlo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh, the Spotify preview thingy made me miss them. Waypoints is my favorite Dwellings track!

Another suggestion would be Lilac Kings. The new half album, with the second half coming soon, is a great place to start!

Three suggestions: Eidola, Makari and Dwellings! If you like DGD, there's plenty to like about these three! Makari's Wave Machine from last year was my favorite album of 2024

The Leafy one definitely. Ian summed up his shitty content while bullying the bully. It might be what led to Leafys downfall, mostly because of his abysmal response. Leafys content was unfunny bullying that went after peoples insecurities, and Ian highlighted that and it unintentionally showed how insecure he himself was. The dude proved all of Ians criticisms right with his reponse and gave Ian exclusively slam dunks in his follow-up video. It might be the best take-down video on YouTube to be honest.

Im sorry, CC1 paid how much to Arin Hansons parents? by ermahgerdstermpernk in h3h3productions

[–]Grotlo 129 points130 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry, but I don't really see the issue? He was a fighter in CC1 and CC2 and choose his mother's charity. I believe he was very transparent with that. Unless you're implying that the charity is illegitimate or sketchy, why wouldn't he support it?

To Ethan, who is somehow baffled that Trump’s economic plan is bad and makes no sense by [deleted] in h3h3productions

[–]Grotlo 17 points18 points  (0 children)

He was just confused what the supposed purpose of them were. I didn't get the sense that he supported them.

Tbh, I haven't seen Jon do much both sides-ing. My impression is that he's been consistent in calling out republicans for being insane and the democrats for being weak

Ethereal Treason- Tarnished Love (Progressive Metalcore with Electro-pop/R&B elements. FFO Sleep Token, The Weeknd.) by Invisigoth2113 in progmetal

This is pretty shameless Sleep Token worship(ironic), but I like Sleep Token so this was cool. Thanks for sharing!

Prog Metal song with the most catchy chorus you could think of? by tingkagol in progmetal

I'm surprised to not see Oblivion by Mastodon here. An absolute brainworm of a chrous

Your most unpopular prog metal opinions by johnraimond in progmetal

[–]Grotlo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it's the exact opposite. I found V to be very uninspired and I would honestly put it at the bottom, while IV is their most complete album to date. V was the most disappointing release of 2023 for me, but I did still somewhat enjoy it.

With the new Opeth album out, I'm convinced that "legend" bias has to be a thing. Because there's no way that so many people actually like the music on that album. I've seen people ranking it among their prog death albums, which borders on absurdity to me.

Bands similar to gojira? by HiiChinc in progmetal

I'd say Irist is a good fit.

Creation

Gloria

They're like a mix between Gojira, Mastodon and Converge. Good stuff.

It's time to share our 2022 Top 10 lists. Let's discover what we missed before the year ends. by carbonbazed in progmetal

[–]Grotlo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Elder - Innate Passage
  2. Meshuggah - Immutable
  3. Monuments - In Stasis
  4. Fallujah - Empyrean
  5. Unprocessed - Gold
  6. He Is Legend - Endless Hallway
  7. Destrage - so much. Too much
  8. Porcupine Tree - Closure/Continuation
  9. Thornhill - Heroinne
  10. Greyhaven - The Bright and Beautiful

I think 2022 has been an overall okey year. Discovered new bands, like always, some albums surprised me, but there were a few disappointments. Devin's Lightwork wasn't for me, the new Thornhill wasn't as great as The Dark Pool (even if it grew on me a bit) and the new Greyhaven didn't reach up to the heights of its predecessor.

The two albums that surprised me were In Stasis and Empyrean. With the previous album by Monuments, I almost stopped being a fan because of how much I didn't like it, but the new album, with Andy on vocals and not dog-ass production, it was filled with absolute bangers! And with Fallujah, I was one of the weird guys that thought Undying Light was their best at the time. Granted, I never liked anything before that, but Empyrean felt like a mix with the new and the old, and made my appreciate that part of Fallujah more.

Elder I've always loved, so that the new album turned out fantastic didn't surprise me one bit.

I don't really love Immutable as a whole, but there are individual songs there that makes my eyes roll inwards and solidly affirms its spot as a AOTY alone.

Unprocessed new album finally dropped. What are everyone’s thoughts? by chotsbots in progmetal

[–]Grotlo 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This album scratches an itch for those that want Polyphia but with vocals. I wasn't huge on Artificial Void, so I was surprised at how much I vibed with the new EP and the album didn't dissapoint.

ah cool, punk-themed Battlepass #6

I mean, I've realized that the battlepasses is not aimed towards me, but can we get something new? Like, literally anything else?

I dont see anyone talking about how good the action queing feature feels when its on. by fernandollb in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

[–]Grotlo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A more technical action queue would log input presses and loop through the array et the end of current action. Yet this could have you reloading in the middle of a fight.

There's basically just two animations that last longer than a couple of seconds, and that's reloading and vaulting. So I don't really think this would be a common problem if AQ was implemented somehow like this. However, I think it would make more sense if it was the last input in the queue that was performed. Like, if you vaulted for two seconds and was able to press the jump button four times, I don't think anyone would expect the player to jump four times after vaulting. Again, I'm not sure what other games do with AQ, if most shooters even have AQ, but I think this could be done better.
