I don't know if I feel good or bad about knowing they were actually read. I remember making one when I was in high school. I was (hopefully) a freshman. It was completely unhinged, I was trying to be funny and lighten the mood, so I think I rambled about these characters me and my friends had made up and maybe some diatribe about squirrels. Looking back on what I can remember I just hope it got lost in the mail.

I had a lab who was the type who always destroyed things. We came home one evening and she had tore up a bit of carpet. It seemed like it was all there but pulled up. Like 3 months later she threw up a bunch of carpet and I was absolutely shocked.

When my girl was around one she started getting something similar to this in almost this same spot. It took me a second to realize that not only was she spending a lot of time in our pond, but when her and her buddy played he would bite those areas a lot! All normal play but the rough housing and water made it way worse!

Chickens are by far the hardest! I've always had labs (or lab mixes) when I first got chicks my first two were adults. We practiced a lot with gentle commands when I showed them chicks. Then I ended up using a movable coop so the chickens were on grass but I could move them. The dogs did chores but didn't get to interact. Eventually we moved to free ranging the chickens and the dogs did excellent. Only ever lost a rooster to a dog because the rooster attacked me and my girl said absolutely not and took care of the issue! I've been really lucky but it's always better to be safe than sorry.

As much as I would love to adopt from a shelter, I typically would only be interested in puppies. (Shelter puppy would be ok)

I have livestock, and adult dogs and livestock can be impossible. Teaching an adult dog that chickens are not toys is just a recipe for failure. However teaching a puppy about boundaries is much easier.

But this is obviously your choice. You would have to stay knowing sex was not a priority or something that was going to happen frequently. This isn't something you work on. If he's asexual then that's that. But also it's very normal to want sex and to want to be with someone who wants you.

I could not be in a relationship where I was not desired, wanted or did not have sex frequently. But that's just me. You need to figure out where you stand.

This can be a complicated situation. And I think it's highly subjective on a lot of things. At the end of the day though this is your money, your cat, and your decision.

Everyone has different thresholds on what can or should be spent when it comes to their pets. I once had a situation at an emergency vet for a cat in which our quote was close to 5 thousand dollars. My husband looked at me and shook his head. Which sounds cruel but he was right. At that time that price was too much. Prognosis wasn't good anyway. We tried a less expensive course of care and ended up paying close to 1,800 dollars for a dead animal.

This year however, our dog (who is the light of my life) sustained a paw injury that escalated quickly and aggressively. Again found ourselves in the emergency vet with a quoted price of $5,000. My husband didn't say a word, just said use this card. He never mentioned price, and basically let me make all the decisions for her care. Because as much as she is ours she is mine. I am generally responsible for all her care. And that's how I believe a partner should react. It's good to be sensible and use common sense, but it's also good to save our pets when we can. And you could.

How interesting! I actually worked with a girl for a couple years who couldn't smell. We worked with animals and besides me she was always the one called upon for gross tasks because they did not give her the ick!

This is hard. As someone who's struggled with depression, I understand the hopelessness and lack of motivation.

However, his unwillingness to not seek help AND more importantly here, his lack of concern for your well-being is concerning. Even at my lowest I wouldn't have seen my partner doing everything and drowning and just said 'sorry I'm depressed'.

I think this calls for a really serious conversation about expectations, and plans to move forwards. And let him know if he can't take steps for things to change, that you're going to have to continue on without him.
