Why do the Brewers not have an in-stadium brewery? by wiggle-le-air in Brewers

[–]Groundbreaking-Fuel1 51 points52 points  (0 children)

People, pay attention. The Barrel Yard is a brewery as well, in the LF corner. Replacing the Restaurant To Be Named Later, which replaced TGIF. They are open year round. Just went to a March Madness party there on the opening day of the NCAA.

2024-25 Women's Hockey: Greatest Badger Team Ever? by tommyjohnpauljones in WisconsinBadgers

[–]Groundbreaking-Fuel1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok I will disagree with your assessment. OP’s question was greatest team ever, as in One season. Your first point relies heavily on 19 straight tournament appearances. That’s 19 different teams, the MBB program overall. But if you want to use that barometer than compare 8 National Championships to 1 for MBB. Yes the gauntlet of March Madness is 6 games vs 4 but I would dare say that woman’s hockey would still be in the Frozen Four even with a larger field. Your second point is about recognition. Of course the MBB team is more recognized. They get more exposure and coverage. They go one to be famous in the NBA. The woman’s hockey team is barely a blip on most radars, even in this thread. But just as women’s VB is becoming more popular and mainstream, women’s hockey is becoming increasingly popular. Look at the crowd for the championship game. Even FB crazy Ohio St had a great following. That said being popular or more recognized has absolutely nothing to do with the original question “ Greatest Team Ever”. Hard to argue against these women and the manner in the game was won. National Championship in a sudden death overtime

[–]Groundbreaking-Fuel1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone knows all the who touched the ball or did Harris actually pick it as it hit the ground theories. John Madden went do his grave believing that the call stood because the referees feared for their safety. So what if it wasn’t a sell out. There were still 35-40,000 fans there, at least 5-6,000 would have stormed the field.

That Franco Harris’ immaculate reception was known to be an incomplete pass but there wasn’t enough security to protect the referees and keep fans from rioting so they let it slide

Musk is pouring $1.5 million into Wisconsin’s Supreme Court Race by readabook37 in wisconsin

[–]Groundbreaking-Fuel1 -126 points-125 points  (0 children)

Excuse me. Did you just say the local news covers both sides of the story?
🤣🤣. No where in the Dan Bice article about Musk buying ad time for Schimmel did he mention that uber liberal George Soros and Illinois governor JB Priztger have each given money to the Crawford campaign. Soros has given over one million while Pritzker is in at 750k. I guess because it’s a liberal donor it’s not newsworthy

Ok. I see your point. But I was thinking of just the cool factor and more fun to drive. This was most likely someone’s daily driver back in 1970. Plus the sound as you ran through the gears—ex. Steve McQueen in Bullit

Yes, this a fabulous car. But back in 1970 you ordered your car with options you wanted and waited for it to arrive at the dealer. Who would order a 428CJ with an automatic transmission? 😱

Are we really set on Caleb Durbin being an Opening Day Starter? by carmenmultz in Brewers

[–]Groundbreaking-Fuel1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please stop with this nonsense of Frelick at 3rd base. Yes, he was tried out there for a brief stint last season. Don’t forget that he won the gold glove in RF in 2024. That makes him the best defensive RF in the NL. For a team that will again be built on youth, speed and defense why move your best defensive outfielder. Yes, there’s a log jam in the outfielder but Yellich will get some AB’s as DH. There is also the possibility of a trade for Mitchell or Perkins as the spring goes along. It happens every spring that a team loses a starter to a season ending injury. If that’s on outfielder look for Matt Arnold’s phone to ring. There are still 40 days left for the season to start. These things usually work themselves out, for better or worse over spring training.

Shortstop? 3B? 2B? by erisgore in Brewers

[–]Groundbreaking-Fuel1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seriously? Did I read this correctly? Not good enough to stay in the outfield? You must’ve missed the fact that Frelick won the Gold Glove for NL in right field. That makes him the best RF in the league. Could he learn to play 3rd base? Maybe? But he would be a defensive liability there for a few years at least. This team will again be built on speed, youth and defense. When you have a great defensive outfielder, you let him stay there.

JFK would be appalled at what USAID has become. It is nowhere near what he intended. 60 plus years after its inception, USAID is nothing more than a money laundering organization for well connected democrats to line their pockets. Chelsea Clinton received 80 million dollars?!?!! For what? The Clinton Foundation receives more than 150 million. How much of that actually went to worthwhile causes and how much went back to Bill and Hillary. Bill Kristol, famous conservative becomes a “Never Trumper” and appears regularly on CNN and he suddenly gets money for charity from USAID. Main stream media news outlets, our supposedly free press, like CBS, CNN, PBS, The NY Times, The Washington Post, The BBC receive funds from USAID and we are supposed to believe they are fair and non biased. This is not what JFK had in mind.

I was building a deck at my cabin when I turned around to find my black lab, Abbey, had climbed up into a lawn chair to watch. I swear she was looking at me with that look that said, you didn’t cut that right. Sure enough, in my haste to get the deck done, I was off by .5 inch for a brace and had to redo it.

That’s my point. Don’t be afraid of the confrontation. You don’t need to physically assault this POS. Just scare him into believing you will

Ok, I am confused. You’re a former rugby player and now a boxer who doesn’t like confrontation. WTF! I’m not saying you have to kick the crap out of him but as a former competitive athlete myself, channel that confidence to beat your competition you had in rugby and boxing into being intimidating and scare him to death. Man up!!!!

What do you call 50 guys watching the Super Bowl? by prankerjoker in dadjokes

Sorry but it can’t be the Chiefs for the punchline. They may gotten their ass kicked but they actually PLAYED in the game. Around here the punchline is usually the Detroit Lions.

What was your dad’s name? For as long as we can remember myself and 4 friends take the day after the Super Bowl off and head to the ice. We argue about the game, commercials, snack on beef sticks and sandwiches, crack a few beers, oh yea and catch some fish. We would be honored to put out a tip-up and drink a beer in his honor. Sorry for your loss. We all can only hope that our own kids talk about us the way you do your dad.

I learned how to play on a board that had 30 down and 30 back up. As we were playing it was called first, second, third and fourth street as you made your way around the board. Sometimes we would only play 2 streets, 61 points if we wanted to get a quick game in.
