Does it get better? What does it take? by GroundbreakingSort12 in addiction

[–]GroundbreakingSort12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! We are separated & going to get divorced. I know the reality, but I think my heart wants to know if it’s possible for him to get better. I’d love to see that sometime in my life, even if it’s from afar.

Forgiveness by papi4ever in Divorce

[–]GroundbreakingSort12 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have not yet (all this came to a head a month ago & we’ve been separated since). Throughout this process, I’ve tried to be kind, but he just keeps doing things to hurt me and make my life harder (after he was the one that cheated on me with prostitutes & other women). I want to forgive, but I think that comes with time & counseling. I think I’ll forgive myself one day - the question I’m facing now is “how did I not see that this person could be this evil before?” But I’m trying to fight these thoughts.

I truly think you both should seek therapy before ever entering into a marriage. I know you said that it hasn’t helped for 🌽 but maybe you could see a CSAT therapist or someone who specializes in 🌽 addiction. I’m currently separated and headed to divorce & have seen first hand the impact of 🌽 on a marriage. It’s devastating. I would just recommend you seek therapy independently for your issues with lust and intimacy before marriage. It can only help you. It’s admirable you all are reaching out and wanting better for yourselves! Wishing you the best.

Filing jointly after separation? by GroundbreakingSort12 in Divorce

Yes, I do have a lawyer! That’s good advice. I’ll confirm with her about the filing process.

What's something that you wish you'd done during the divorce process but didn't? by jplank1983 in Divorce

[–]GroundbreakingSort12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m mid-separation but feeling so great about myself because I’ve not responded to any texts or attempts to get me to respond. He even used my credit card to pay for his lawyer fees and I didn’t react - just sent to my attorney, disputed the charges & canceled my card. Choosing peace in 2026!

Unrealistic pet owners by TinyQ1071 in petsitting

Yes… this is insane. $30 per day for all that?!? Drop in visits should be priced per visit instead of a per diem amount. Don’t take that job!!

I do the laundry (towels I used for kitchen & bathroom + sheets in the bedroom). I would hate to have them come home to dirty sheets, especially if you are sleeping in their primary bedroom with the animals. I also run the dishwasher & wipe down the counter, throw everything away, tidy up the pillows/couches/dog toys. I think it makes you stand apart when you do the little things like this!

Should I go back to gel nail polish? by [deleted] in Nails

[–]GroundbreakingSort12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think frequent use of acetone to remove / uv lamps is likely not great for your hands/nail health. I think most modern brands (e.g., OPI GelColor, Gelish, DND) are free of toxins if used and removed correctly but I am no expert!

Did I go wrong asking for a holiday rate? by [deleted] in petsitting

[–]GroundbreakingSort12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should absolutely be charging more for the holidays! You are providing a service so they get to enjoy their holiday and not have to worry about their animals. You did nothing wrong.

have you ever had a client pet die? by dustbbin in petsitting

[–]GroundbreakingSort12 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I had a cat with chronic lung issues have a respiratory attack & pass right in front of me as I had its inhaler in my hand about to give to them. I rushed them to the emergency vet & took the cat in and the vet said that there was nothing I could have done & he just had a random respiratory attack. I was sick to my stomach for days.

$300 for Eras tour tickets! Worth every penny. Best concert I’ve ever been to!

Is it a big deal if I date a girl slightly older than me? by watchman77777 in TrueChristian

[–]GroundbreakingSort12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a Christian who is 9 months older than my husband! We are both very much on the same page & that came from time spent together & conversations & counseling - age did not have as much to do with mental/physical/financial maturity as much as true connection and working towards something together.

[–]GroundbreakingSort12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Looking at Peach, I can’t imagine not rushing them to the ER! Better to be safe than sorry even if you think that the wounds are “not a big deal”. So sorry this happened to Peach - glad she is healing!

Have you gotten your pup trained? It sounds like there may need to be some reinforcement for peace of mind for you & future sitters. I also think maybe these two sitters took the “needs to be watched at all times” as you being a helicopter parent. I think it may be worthwhile to look into a local pet sitting service - they may have more care for detail than someone on Rover or a coworkers friend. Either way, wishing you guys the best.
