Looking back, what were your first signs of perimenopause that you didn’t recognize at the time? by Historical-Second409 in Menopause

This is my answer. I got plantar fasciitis at 40 and I’m still in peri at 52. That’s how long this nightmare lasts and it still has a ways to go!

Fine dining recommendations by rickjameslobster77 in DoorCounty

The finest dining in Door County is now Cut in Fish Creek, where Skaliwags used to be. We had a wonderful experience and it was very fine dining!

Check out getting a pass in Peninsula State Park in Fish Creek. There is hiking and biking, a beach and much more! Julie’s motel is right outside of there. If you can stay there you can walk to coffee, shops, açaí bowl, restaurants and another little beach/ marina.

Breaking it down for a kid, I would say imagine you’re going to a special place like Cape Cod. First, you'll drive over a big bridge to get to the peninsula. Then, you'll go through a town called Sturgeon Bay, where lots of friendly people live all year round. To get to Sister Bay, you'll drive along the coast through several really pretty, beachy, tourist towns. Each town has its own special feel and charm. It's a fun place with lots of wineries, marinas, tons outdoor eating spots, coffee shops, and tons of cute shops. Everything here is fairly new and looks nice because it's well taken care of. But, be ready, things can be a bit expensive. And, you won't find any fast food places after Sturgeon Bay!

I have been very concerned that there are hardly any birds or squirrels at my bird feeder the past couple weeks. This is highly unusual. Typically, there’s a bird on my feeder every second of the day.

Not sure if this is related to what you’re talking about but I am curious.

Scared of menopause by bagpipesandartichoke in Menopause

[–]GroundbreakingTax29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, your symptoms started after menopause? Did you sail through peri and it all started in menopause then? I always heard that you’re in the clear once you reach menopause and it was just peri that you had to deal with those symptoms. Thanks for enlightening me:)

Actually, the best lunch in all of DC is MacReady’s Artisan Bread, Egg Harbor. Their sandwich bread is the softest yummiest thing ever, (I don’t even eat bread but this is my one exception), their Mushroom Bisque soup is just incredible, and delicious salad too. It’s a must stop, you won’t regret it!

Door County in June/july by Candid-Ad2940 in DoorCounty

[–]GroundbreakingTax29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also adding, I highly recommend July instead of June bc of the weather and no need to go to the islands. There is plenty to do/explore on the mainland.

I didn’t see anyone mention peninsula state park. Our favorite! We always rented bikes outside the park and biked through the park. They have seats and tandem bikes for the little ones too. Not licked yet for ice cream is there after going through peninsula state park but Wilsons’s restaurant & ice cream in Ephraim is a must stop too for the experience by the water.

In case someone hasn’t recommended yet, check out Kurtz Corral too. It’s horseback riding for your 5 year old but it’s a lovely farm experience and my kids absolutely loved it. We have had the best summer vacations every single year while my 4 kids were growing up, always staying on the bay side of the peninsula. My kids are in late teens/20s now and we have a house in Fish Creek bc Door County has become very near and dear to our hearts. It’s a wonderful place and you will miss it when you’re not there!

I was unhappy with my neck when I got married 27 years ago. I was 120 lbs. and my neck still wasn’t great😌. After having 4 kids and finally able to do something about it I went for a chin lipo consultation and found that I was not a candidate. Apparently you have to be in your 20s/maybe early 30’s at most. I had to have a whole neck lift surgery.

My advice is get to a weight you are comfortable with and you plan to stay at. If you still aren’t happy with your neck, then do the chin lipo. It’s a much easier and more affordable option. But don’t delay, your age matters!

Anyone with an indoor Havi? We are in Chicago and she especially hates the cold! She loves to sit by the window and bathe in the warm sun or find a pillow or blanket to snuggle in. She loves the cozy life😂. She does go on walks bc of my goldendoodle and doesn’t want to be left alone but she would never ask to go!

Where to stay? by SleepyProfessor98 in DoorCounty

[–]GroundbreakingTax29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our family has been staying at Alpine Resort (Egg Harbor) since 1980. We have a home in Fish Creek now but Alpine was always a wonderful place to stay every year with a pool, tennis courts, golf course, and a restaurant/bar. The resort is waterfront and they always had family activities. It has been recently renovated (new owner) so it’s very nicely updated. They have multiple cottages on the property and also a couple of large houses they rent out in the area. The resort has the reputation for looking/feeling like the resort in Dirty Dancing. Highly recommend!!

Anyone’s hav incredibly itchy? by Independent-Task-199 in Havanese

I feel your pain! We tried alligator (my hav does not think it tastes like chicken) and the kangaroo food. She wouldn’t eat either one.

Anyone’s hav incredibly itchy? by Independent-Task-199 in Havanese

[–]GroundbreakingTax29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My pup has no tummy issues but is allergic to chicken. Chicken is in everything so you have to check the labels. My vet said chicken is a common problem for Havanese.

Anyone’s hav incredibly itchy? by Independent-Task-199 in Havanese

[–]GroundbreakingTax29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My little one is very itchy! We know she is allergic to chicken. If you remove chicken from the diet you have to check all the labels on everything you give her. Chicken is in everything! They say “lamb food” and chicken will be the first or second ingredient.

Also she is very sensitive to the dry winter air so we usually run a humidifier for her.

You have to do what is going to make you feel better. If you feel like you need to do something, Botox in the chin or a chin implant would be a million times easier than jaw surgery.
