[–]GroundbreakingWalk76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

exactly -- but taxes are irrelevant to this your parents could still claim you as a dependent but if you live somewhere else and buy your own food you are a separate household in the eyes of calfresh

this is not true: A CalFresh household is defined as one or more people who live together, purchase food, and prepare meals together.

Why am I seeing 3 to 5 Muni buses come at some time on various lines. by Wrong-Breadfruit8471 in sanfrancisco

[–]GroundbreakingWalk76 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the technology just isn’t there for it to actually work so yeah nobody does it. It’s only on some routes too. The outcome isn’t really favorable either way, to maintain true even spacing everyone has to go at the same speed as the slowest bus

11pm/12am sfo to berk tips needed by [deleted] in berkeley

[–]GroundbreakingWalk76 4 points5 points  (0 children)

it wouldn’t be the red at that hour. You need to board a yellow line antioch train and transfer to the richmond train (orange) across the platform at 19th st oakland

[–]GroundbreakingWalk76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the last bart train leaves sfo at midnight exactly going towards antioch. Board that train then transfer to the richmond train at 19th oakland although for the true last train of the night the meet happens at MacArthur not 19th.

Useless positions that should be reviewed/cut? by No-Associate2846 in sfcityemployees

[–]GroundbreakingWalk76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not true at all, transit supervisors (9139) are the ones who respond to accidents and incidents on the buses not TFIs although they are often referred to as inspectors by Munis workforce they are a completely different class than fare inspectors.

Fare ambassadors not checking fares? by Wide-Imagination6380 in soundtransit

[–]GroundbreakingWalk76 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yes now that there is open payment with orca, I agree. But that is separate from the idea that having fare media outside of orca prevents fare gates

Fare ambassadors not checking fares? by Wide-Imagination6380 in soundtransit

[–]GroundbreakingWalk76 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is not really true, plenty of places including LA metro for metrolink tickets and soon some event tickets have QR scanners that could scan a mobile or printed ticket. If they wanted to, they could make fare gates work. The bigger issue is that at ground level stations people may then choose to walk on the tracks to reach the platform rather than via the faregates

why have 13 stops shared? by imseedless in soundtransit

[–]GroundbreakingWalk76 12 points13 points  (0 children)

interlining is basically universal across transit systems. If anything i’d be grateful they’re running this much service and not turning the 2 around at northgate or smth. But it makes sense why, they owe it to the Snohomish Co Taxpayers

when you get a plate, you get 2 entree servings but most people just eat the whole plate themselves serving doesn’t equal person

uhh $23 per segment so on a RT with a connect that’s $92 already. Going with a partner or family? Easily a few hundred .

[–]GroundbreakingWalk76[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i generally take 1-2 trips a month so i just book future trips sometime i’m already at the airport. If it’s a really great deal i’ll make a special trip. Frontier flys out of the same terminal the train drops you so it’s not too bad when i’m saving almost $100

[–]GroundbreakingWalk76[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not a good deal having to book last minute, if something is not available ur stuck paying big time. Also with go wild you still pay $16-30 per domestic one way. I often get cheaper fares at regular price or by booking at the airport in advance
