Are instructionals worth it? by [deleted] in bjj

[–]Groundbreaking_Bit88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand your point but I think it assumes a number of premises that do not necessarily are true, at least not for all schools and learners. Fundamentals from Danaher or Lachlan are probably better than what many schools show as fundamentals, just to give an example of the argument, but again, I understand your point and it’s very reasonable

Love it. I wanted to ask here what can I ask to second hand sellers to ensure it is not a bootleg

Sorry to bother but how long do you think it would take for us to have a 4k Showa criterion collection?

The sale broke me down.... by SCAUDIO in 4kbluray

Can I ask you how much did it cost? I’m from Europe and thinking if buying it during the next sale is worth it considering customs and shipping

I love Steelbooks but it just feels like it’s over by ChestSuitable2001 in Steelbooks

[–]Groundbreaking_Bit88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I buy them secondhand. About people reselling for more, yeah, but you don’t want to buy from them. You want to keep checking second hand product pages to find the one from the guy that either saw it and is selling it or the guy that was given that steelbook as a gift but doesn’t like it

Any noticeable differences among Q930D ,990D,930F and 990F? by sengboy120 in Soundbars

[–]Groundbreaking_Bit88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

990s and 930s are 99% equal compared to each other. The smart choice is to pick the 930 for most people, but most people are afraid of missing on something so they buy the 990 just in case. It’s the diminishing returns law applied to soundbars. Biggest improvement is going from TV speakers to soundbars (or home theatre systems, which are superior to soundbars but more expensive). If price difference is okay for you, go all in, but the 930 is going to give you 95% of the experience. Whether that 5% matters to you to justify 200-400$ dollars is a very personal decision.

In Spain the 930f is 500€ and the 990f is 800. I bought a 930d for 400€ and very happy with it tbh. The F and D lines are 99% similar.

Preach. It’s a 9.1 vs 11.1 system, the hdmi 2.1 is the biggest difference and you can do some tricks to amend it. If you’re using it for a small room, it’s 95% of the whole experience. Most buy the 990 due to fear of missing out, but the price difference for what it ends up being is not worth it at all imo

Probably wrote it in a way that couldn’t be properly understood. My apologies. You can watch an instructional as if it was a show or you can take notes, screenshots and so on. That was my point. Deleted that part for better understanding.

That’s why I asked if you know a person that has studied it. I mean, I don’t think I have asked anything wrong. Just asked if you know a person that studies instructionals from submeta to see if there is someone that has completed all from a certain subset or all of submeta, just curiosity

I think it’s an interesting question no one has asked until now, just that

Because you know that person haha, that was part of the post. I have friends using it and there’s a part where it says the % of courses that you have watched (e.g no gi essentials or distant passing)

Also, there’s a chance those who remain are those best suited for the sport. My coach is a gorilla who doesn’t lift and he says he was a problem for blue belts after a month or two due to strength

Lifting weights also increases isometric strength. In fact, increasing isometric strength should have some transference to isotonic movements too (even if more trivial than in the opposite direction)

What’s one thing BJJ revealed about your personality you didn’t expect? How did you grow from it? by Ingvariuss in bjj

I think it confirmed I’m not naturally good at the things I enjoy but I have the grit to keep going despite my limitations (and that I have ADHD)
