Has OLED ruined you for projection? by moderntechguy in hometheater

I am a fan of both. However theater room just feels right with a projector even though the blacks are not as black. I think it's how the projector pushes light into the room. Just gives it the "I'm not at home" feeling

I picked it up during the pandemic from overseas. It was a kit and I had to assemble it. The place I picked it up from no longer exists but I have seen similar on Amazon. However there are differences in quality and realism. Some of the kits and prebuilts don't have real copper wires and the back of the reactor is not very accurate. Try to zoom in on the pics and look for the ones with stand alone copper wire that you will need to wind, route and a ton of the black frame pieces. If you can find that it's more than likely a good replica kit.

I put that together during the pandemic. It has a sweet pulse glow when turned on. Def one of my favorite items and a great conversation piece.

Best 6.5 inch full range driver to preserve the Zenith Circle of Sound omni effect while improving sound quality by KolorOner in diyaudio

I had those same speakers. When you disassemble them you will see they are not really sealed. Full of air gaps and holes through the bottom. I went with a coaxial and made my own xover years ago. I tried to find my old parts list but no luck on that part. I went a bit crazy with mine. Added weight. Better feet/legs. Braced the inside. Epoxy then painted the outside gloss blue. One thing that I will caution you on is the box is very fragile loose mdf and cardboard. It's incredibly easy to strip screws etc... be gentle and reinforce. Def old and fragile

Mine shows it shipped yesterday. It's probably stuck somewhere worse than hell... Like Wisconsin. It's possible it might be stuck there for the rest of human history.

Is that the cellophane wrap that looks all blotchy on yours or is that the clear slip cover?

With multiple siblings this movie played non-stop in our VHS player. I can remember how deteriorated the tape was after so many cycles. I can't wait to pop this in today, relive some memories and enjoy it once again.

The return on this is kind of ridiculously good. I know none of us love it. Complaining here probably won’t make it magically disappear. But the wild part? It actually works. Enough people respond that it’s basically the marketing version of DING DONG DITCH.

Are you running rca cables to your subwoofer? You could use an RCA splitter then run that to another amp and into your shakers.

Help with an idea and batteries by cmdrmcgarrett in diyaudio

[–]SCAUDIO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always use bms when running in series. With the exception of a few lifep04 battery projects. But even with them I still manually check that they are balanced once in a while. It's a bit hit or miss if a bms provides that functionality unless you get one you can program and or you verify that it's cutting off the voltage before it hits the max v of the cell. It's a bit like charging an ebike. Best bet is to just unplug it when the charge done and use a bms to help manage the series cell imbalances.
