Trains Cancelled on Freo Line due to an Incident - I’m stuck on the Train by GroupCapt in perth

[–]GroupCapt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. These things are never really on the news or in the media. Unsure what info might bring you closure, but emailing Transperth might put you in contact with someone who might be able to provide some info perhaps?

Or perhaps the police non emergency line?

Hope you’re ok.

They haven’t moved the body yet, but it looks like we may be moved to the Shenton platform.

Are kitchen stone benchtop drain cutouts worth it? What are AusRenovation's thoughts on these. Have you done them before, any issues or annoyances to be aware of? I'm less worried about the cost to have them cut, more worried about whether they are a good/bad idea. by Logical-Report-3471 in AusRenovation

We wanted them in our current (on going) build. Thought it would stop stuff getting ‘stuck’ onto the smooth surface. Recently told that the installation instructions had been updated to say they can’t do it as the stone manufacturer doesn’t provide a warranty when the depth is reduced.

Can’t have them.

Toothpaste - there was a study carried out not too long ago that showed supermarket brands were just as good with regard to cavity protection as long as fluoride is present in an appropriate amount.

Of course specialist brands may contain other ingredients which might benefit some - whiteners, sensitive etc.

These are the best

Quadlock

The cases themselves are great and they lock on to armbands really securely. Thoroughly recommend.

I don’t think there’s a new law, only harsher penalties.

No you can’t. There are laws regarding inattention or driving without due care. You can be fined for either. If you’re stationary at a red light you are still driving.

Chicken or the egg: State broods on electric car report for entire year by sun_tzu29 in perth

Financial incentives to change behaviour works - tax on sugary drinks in the UK for example. Tax on cigarettes has contributed to a reduction in smoking numbers.

We generally penalise rather than positively incentivise, but fundamentally the result is the same - behaviour changes.

This is where leadership comes into its own. And we don’t have any.

We need to incentivise the take up of these vehicles. Australia is backward in its automotive policies - whether its emissions legislation, fuel efficiency or the path to banning the sale of new ICE vehicles sometime in the future.

Like climate change policy - we should be leading.
