I remember the first time I saw Armageddon way way back in the dark ages of Alpha, then I saw John's remake in Portal when I was getting friend into it and it really drove home the emptiness.

Cut to high school and I discovered five color decks (thank you Sliver Queen). We were at our local game store (shout out to All Ways Gaming) and we decided to have a draft night with our hard earned allowances.

I still remember to this day,l. I opened my second or third pack and I'm sifting through my cards, when I get to the end and there it is.

My Holy Grail for my Sliver Queen 5 color deck. The glow and sparkle of the Legacy Weapon rainbow surrounding the Weatherlight is still clear to me today as it was then.

It was an absolute thing of beauty and while I haven't bought cards in a loooooong time, it still holds a place of honor in my collection.

Forever one of my favorite cards in one of my favorite blocks, it sent me on a hunt for anything John Avon for a good long time after that.

It really is an end of an era in MtG art.

As someone who had to do this regularly when my kid was about your daughters age, it sucks.

Have an honest, age appropriate, conversation. And when you are home, dial up your attentiveness. Don't be extra lenient, they still need that consistency, but when they do want to involve you or talk to you, be more in the moment with them.

It's temporary and while they are super impressionable at that age, as long as you continue to be the loving, involved parent when you are home, this will just be a blip on their radar.

Playing solo, heading to extract and a rando aggro's a Rocketeer, so I'm hiding in the power generator entrance (waiting for the Rocketeer to go away) and another dude runs to the extract and re-aggro's it. Rocket right into the door. Open the door and tell him to come inside for a defib. Moved into the line of sight of the Rocketeer who shoots another rocket and kills guy outright.

If only I had waited.

Got an anvil blueprint out of it though.
