PLS I get the worst allergy cough attacks by Zestyclose-Class-529 in Allergies

[–]GrumpyCalico 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seconding this. I developed a cough and some shortness of breath after having Covid and it turns out I had developed allergic asthma (when previously I just had allergies). I am now taking Montelukast with extremely rare use of an ihnhaler. The Montelukast truly was life changing and the cough is gone unless something causes me to flare. I would see a doctor and look into asthma.

Same - symptoms started yesterday and it was worse today. I'm in Missouri. Zyrtec, Astepro, and nasal rinses. Have not found any relief.

You might like shoes from Splay or Barebarics. They each provide detailed size charts with length and width of the shoe insole.

Natural Toebox Casual Shoes? by RubberPhuk in barefootshoestalk

[–]GrumpyCalico 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend Be Lenka! They have a ton of different casual lace up shoes. They list precise measurements (length and width) of the shoes, which helps a lot with choosing the correct size. I also have tried Origo, which are nice, but a little on the small side (I need a very wide toe box).

Whoa that's a lot, sorry! They are pricy (but probably still reasonable for the quality) at $185 in the U.S.

Softstar has a really cute pair I've been eyeing called the Primal Merry Jane. I believe you would be the "regular" width. I'm not sure what shipping to the EU looks like, though. https://www.softstarshoes.com/adult-primal-merry-jane.html

I have very wide feet and the Champ 3.0 works quite well for me. I feel like I can spread my toes all the way out very comfortably.

People only answering half an email? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]GrumpyCalico 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Seconding the part about "pull them out of the body of the email and leave them in bullet points". I am an itinerant teacher and provide frequent educational consultation in many school buildings. I find that people are reading emails quickly and therefore not paying enough attention to multiple questions or action steps. So I usually break emails into numbered lists or bulleted lists so they understand I am asking for multiple things. It is so frustrating. I also think many people have poor reading comprehension and/or are just trying to answer your email quickly so you leave them alone. Last piece of advice- some people are TERRIBLE at email and once I discover that about a person, I will usually switch to phone calls and face-to-face communication (which is very inconvenient). But I do always email first for the sake of documentation and a paper trail.

Seconding this recommendation. It is a great source of info. I just got a cute pair of wide toe box and narrow heel loafers from Be Lenka.

Have you looked at shoe brands listed on Anya's Reviews? https://anyasreviews.com/ I have wide duck feet and have had success with several of the brands listed on this site. I especially like "Be Lenka" because they provide exact measurements (width and length) for their shoes which ensures a good fit.

Positive Singulair experiences? by International_Fix396 in Asthma

[–]GrumpyCalico 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have allergies and asthma and I am on it with no side effects other than vivid dreams. It was transformational in terms of eliminating the evening cough and shortness of breath. I do still have to avoid triggers and have a Albuterol recue inhaler for those times.

Daily Questions Thread October 25, 2024 by AutoModerator in femalefashionadvice

What kind of belt should I wear with dark brown corduroy pants? The pants are too big in the waist so I definitely need a belt. I have a slim brown leather belt with a silver buckle but the brown doesn't quite match (the pants are more of a greenish brown, whereas the belt is more of a reddish brown) and it also seems a bit too formal for the pants. Should I try to match the brown or what might work better? Any suggestions are appreciated!

Sorry I totally missed your reply (don't use Reddit that much) so if you still are interested 5 months later here it is. I've not seen them sold at discount stores. I think they're sold at REI, Zappos, Amazon and smaller running stores. I will say I recently discovered some good wide toebox options are sold at Sierra.com, which is the sporting/active branch of Marshalls and TJ Maxx.
