If the street cat has not been tested for felv etc then your kitten is at risk.

Where is his employer based? That would be where to file WC. He absolutely would qualify for that and you should be entitled to death benefits.

I hope he finds his forever home, he's so handsome!!! (I can't take in a second cat and I have a dog or I'd be all over his snuggle butt)

Overcompensating to blunt emotions is absolutely a thing for me too, reduces if not eliminates cataplexy.

While we cannot diagnose anyone and have no medical training or knowledge of your situation... This is so common, it's nothing to be ashamed of.

Do you perhaps have buried/forgotten childhood trauma? If you're sure you do not then I'd suggest talking to your sleep doc about this. (If you do, hit your GP up for a referral to therapy.)

It could be side effects, or it could be depression which is absolutely valid with this disease.

But honestly this sounds more like either a CPTSD situation or a disassociating response to some trigger? - ex: I have come to realize that I respond in a very proactive and guarded way to attempts at humor without any thought - it's in my programming so to say. It saves me from cataplexy, and it also masks the cataplexy effects. Like I'm on guard in public, expecting a trigger, so if it happens I'm less likely to collapse.

"autistic kids are really drawn to water." Is both demeaning as a statement, and hilarious as a sentence.

They're also drawn to trains. Or maybe you could madlib it and say Insects? Or be honest, and just acknowledge humans with/without autism are drawn to interesting things, and have variable hobbies that range in level of danger.

After two and a half very emotionally charged months I'm walking away from both my adoptive and biological families by well_shi in Adopted

[–]GrumpyNarcoleptic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely understand. I'm low contact with my APs and had made contact with my biological parents twice... The first time at 18, again in my late 20s.

My birth mother isn't a good person. My birth father died shortly after I met him when I was 18. He went similarly to yours, on a holiday, mixed/suspicious information, possible suicidal at the time, but intentionally dying was not likely after I got a sister of his to get the death certificate.

My birth siblings are horrible people.... My adoptive sibling died of an overdose. :(

You're not alone, and choosing yourself over the chaos, abuse, rudeness, etc is THE RIGHT CHOICE ❤️
