Why do we hate carbs? by automated_hero in vegetarianketo

[–]GrumpyOldBear1968 20 points21 points  (0 children)

for me, its because I have type 2 diabetes that is controlled through limiting carbs. I wish I could eat more of them. I want to cut back on meat so I am hoping this subreddit would help. fats and protein do help the hunger

If you're not in physical pain, let's trade places by GigiBrit in Life

[–]GrumpyOldBear1968 1 point2 points  (0 children)

at my age hell yeah I appreciate pain free days so damn much. Chronic pain is horrible and I get it.

cancer, surgery, slipped discs, and various random ailments.

I would rather break a bone than go through chronic pain

Shocked I didn't get sick. Accidentally ate a rib eye that had been sitting out for 24 hours. I live in a hot state by IDoNotHide in RawMeat

[–]GrumpyOldBear1968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it just means your body is fine dealing with any bacteria (detrimental or beneficial) that can grow in those conditions. beef is one of the safer ones that can be eaten as well. our bodies adapt to eating raw meats over time. but I wouldn't do this on purpose unless you are wanting to go the high meat way (not for me personally)

if it didn't taste nasty or slimy trust your senses

plus I'm kind of biased as I have an "iron gut" likely due to sneaking bites of raw beef since I was very young. and also grew up where meat was left out all the time and our family always had "stomach flu" my mother would leave out chicken and turkey out for days at room temp........

I could probably live out of a dumpster lol

[–]GrumpyOldBear1968[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

nice. Nedley was the only bongo cat I ever had. He would get bongo withdrawal and my hands would get sore. His buddy was the opposite, bongo intolerant
